Anyone recently use a Qutenza patch or has this fallen out of favor? Any luck with patient pain outcome? Any luck with billing?
Do you use EMLA cream prior to application?

Our hospital stopped carrying it so I can't use it. I liked using it - it had moderate benefit.

Just lidocaine. EMLA would have too much epi.

Nowadays, have to write a script and patient pics up to bring in to the office. Otherwise reimbursement is nonexistent....

Then you Book them in a follow up slot and just bill them for a follow up office visit?

I wasn't aware the EMLA cream contained epinephrine. I thought it was Lidocaine 2.5% + Prilocaine 2.5%

Do you apply the local in the office or have the patient apply at home?

You can bill as follow up with a modifier. I think we did used 96999 and 99213. Most of time is with nurse. I did try E/M with extended stay modifier too. Forgot how that went...

I.e. Reimbursement sucks. But I don't focus on that...
