The correct answer is A because CaCl2 has a much higher molar weight than NaCl. 10 g of each sample would get you (10/58)(2) = 0.34 mol of Na+ and Cl- vs (10/111)(3) = 0.27 mol of Ca2+ and Cl-.
 
Yeah but according to destroyer or even Chad the lowest freezing point has to do with highest dissociation so that's reason why it comes out little confusing! But i understand your point as well

This would make answer B even more incorrect since Ca(OH)2 is less soluble than NaOH.
 
No it's correct. It says 10 grams

10/58(molar mass NaCl) * 2 = 0.345
10/110(molar mass CaCl2) * 3 = 0.27


Therefore NaCl will have more influence and decrease the freezing point the most.

EDIT: UGH I just noticed Kombucha said the same thing XD
 
So we must do the calculation in order to get end result! I was just going base on the i number and assuming that got it
