What's the big deal about "radiologic-pathologic" correlation, and why do some programs offer special months dedicated to going over pathology slides and correlating it to radiologic findings? (I know Wake Forest does this) Is it just to have more on the differential diagnosis for a particular disease, know the natural history of the disease, and understand how the patient outcomes will differ with the diseases on the differential?
Should this dedicated time be something that I really want out of a program, or is it just something for these places to brag about to attract candidates?
Thanks.
