How difficult is it to get a radiology spot from midwest in NYC ?

If you can, try to show a link to NYC in your application. If you have family or friends in NYC, you may want to use their address as your "home address."

Many of the Cali, NYC, Chicago programs particularly favor people with a link to the community.

220 is below the national average (national figures aren't available but a good guess would be 235 for those matching). What do you mean by "amazing research experience"? I'm curious as to how someone can become an assistant professor as a medical student?
 
And don't forget to look at some of the programs near NYC: NJ, CT, and even Philadelphia. 1 hour commute to NYC from Philadelphia's 30th Street Station on Amtrak. You can even buy a monthly pass.
