Hey everyone,
I'm going to graduate from Berkeley this fall and I have 6 months off before med school ( i need to get into somewhere too, lol). But anyways, does anyone know if there are programs where I can help in a radiology department at a hospital or shadow a radiologist? Thanks!!!

call up your local hosp's and see if they have an established program. if not, call a local radiologists and ask if you can shadow them. if they like you, they will pull strings to get you something. be aggressive about it.

i worked for the past 3 months at a hosp in boston in the rad onc (i know, not rads, but i got lots of exp to rad too) dept, and i was given LOTS of responsiblity and i got to see and learn a lot of cool things that reinforced my interest in medicine and i played a significant role in patient care(saw patients as part of my responsibility!!) it obviously won't directly affect whether you get into residency, but when you do your sub-i's in rad or whatever, you'll have some idea of what you're doing. but that wasn't my primary reason for doing it - i was bored of doing absolutely nothing and wanted to do something productive 🙂
