I'm not applying for rads or anything, but my impression that it is pretty difficult to get into an allopathic university rads program from a DO school. The PD of radiology at my mid-tier allopathic school told a DO student at my school that they usually throw out applications when they see DO in the CV because no one knows anything about the DO school (no DO school has really established a national academic reputation according to him and there are no DO schools in my state). He also told us that he told another DO student that he would have to be particularly exceptional or have very good connections to match into an allopathic radiology program too. According to him, this DO student lost his temper and started yelling at him after he told him this. The odd part is that this student was just starting his radiology rotation here, so all of the faculty gave him a hard time for yelling at the PD. My school is not a school that routinely rejects DO's too, we have a lot of DO residents in our EM and psychiatry program.
