Hey everyone...

My computer went on the fritz, and long story short I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows. But I'm back now 🙂

Yes it was. I just had to hit 64. 😳

tomorrow im gonna see if my school lets me drop my generalist primary care (GPC) rotation that i have scheduled for the last month of 3rd year and replace it with Emergency Medicine. Both are 4 week rotations and by then I will have met the prereqs for EM of medicine, surgery and peds. I REALLY need them to let me do this since it will let me have completed my EM rotation by June so that I can go off on away rotations and get letters (yeah.... my school has no EM residency so theres no home field advantage, if you want to get into EM from here you HAVE TO do away rotations for the letters, etc...).

hopefully they'll let me do it, there's space in the rotation its just that sometimes they get upset when we drop a core requirement (ie, GPC) and not immediately place it back on the schedule someplace else.... something i cant do right now since we cant schedule anything into our 4th year for another couple of months. if anything i guess ill beg my dean of student affairs (my former attending!) to let me do it so that I can get EM done soon. 😳

otherwise id be at the mercy of the 4th year schedules later and since i dont get to lock in my senior schedule until after 125 people in my class pick theirs before mine i may not be able to get into our core EM rotation until late in 4th year. :scared:

sorry for the long post beary.... these are the things on my mind.

because she said "french one" which led me to believe that she quoted the wrong post. I could be wrong.

No, I thought you said it, not TypeA... I'm a dork. Ignore me 😛

Did anyone else think that when that sheet was flying up when Prince turned sideways that the spike on his guitar look like a... well... you get the idea.

OMG.

A few days ago my 3 year said the S-word when she dropped something on the floor - my fault for saying it around her. I told her she's not allowed to say that (and neither is mommy, LOL) and that if she drops something she should say "oops" or "shoot" instead.

So she just dropped something on the floor and I heard her say "Oops!" Then she came over to me just beaming and proud of herself and said "Mommy, I'm a good girl! I didn't say ****, I said oops instead!"

Nice ....... At least she gets the idea.

 that's beautiful

sad game 🙁

Looks like the Bears will be searching for a new QB next year.

But I'm happy for Peyton Manning. He played well tonight.

Chicago fans actually like the Colts (when we're not playing them).

Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone. However, I'd like to remind everyone that I haven't actually matched. Hell, I haven't even taken Step 1 [I'm still hip-deep in second year.] I've just had a significant epiphany that needs to be followed. 🙂

That sounds perfect then if you are reading about it all the time.
Yep. Now that I have a goal to work towards, it's going to mean lotsa study between now and Step 1 in June.

Ah - explains the gmail away msg thing... and here I thought you were just disturbed 😉
You always know just what to say. 😍

And :wow: from me too Evo. How many years is the residency?
7 years. 😱

Evo! OMG!

No one can ever say you aren't ambitious 🙂

Glad you found your calling!

What were your board scores dude?!
Haven't taken them yet. But the bar is pretty high....around 235+.

wooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
Thanks, Nik.

EVO- congrats, man!!!!! very exciting!
Yes, it is. And hey, what's with the new spelling of your name???? 😕

Eh, something will strike you, I promise. It has to. :luck:

Aw. You know I was just messing with you 😍

That's awesome that you've found something you love. I'm sure you'll rock the step too. No worries! 😀 :luck:

When they found the thing in my MRI last year I was really impressed with the neurosurgeon that my dad got for a consult. He seemed really confident and actually took the time to explain my options. 😍

I tried soooooooooo hard to get this set of parents into another room so they could have a private chat with the NS to ask questions, etc, but they refused b/c they wanted their supports there. This poor guy had to tell TWENTY FIVE immediate and extended family members, as well as friends, ngbrs, and church members about this kid's prognosis- which, although OK, was not great.

He was so good. SO good.

I'm not in to surgery - AT ALL - but I think if I were to consider it I'd like either Neurosurgery or Ortho (but those are really the only two I've had any exposure to other than Optho).

Did I tell you that my dad's newest mission in life is to prove to me just how much the life of a PCP sucks? He keeps setting me up to eat dinner, talk on the phone with or shadow the most miserable primary care docs you'll ever meet.

You'd think he'd be happy he at least got one of us to go to medical school but I think he's determined to scare me into Optho

the pediatrician I work with keeps informing me I'm going to be taking over for her service, as she plans on retiring within the next 5 years. (never mind that the math doesn't even come close to working out.)

I usually respond by letting her know that she and my psychiatrist friends can duke it out and let me know who wins. 😀

Edit: I also keep reminding her that I have to GET IN first. Details, details. 🙄

Psha....

"Get in"? That's a forgone conclusion, darlin'!!!

Especially after you get the Twin double team osmosis MCAT prep in April!!

(Also known as: Buy Ana a drink and she'll let you rub her head for good luck while Boy Twin goes shirtless to provide the motivation... yes with a good MCAT you too could afford a cabana boy like that 😉 )

wow. that's kind of like a bizarre twist on the whole "pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time" thing, huh?

:meanie:

Well you can pat my head but I think we both know whose abs you'd like to be rubbing... or maybe that's just me.

And since his computer is fixed I can rest assured he'll be blushing at this soon 😉

The things you say when guys aren't around... :d

I think you having Abs radar is a better explanation 😉

Fine...

I was originally in bulking phase where I just eat alot to gain alot of muscle size (and fat) at the same time. Now I guess I have to switch to chiseling phase, where I up the cardio to unearth all the built-up muscle and shred the fat.

Fine...
