It's totally driveable for now, so I have time to research. Maybe August when my physics class from hell is over? And by that time, perhaps the 2007s will be coming in, leading to great deals on the '06s. *keeping fingers crossed*

The lights and daytime running lights are still in working order, but I have to renew my license plates in Sept, so I'm a little concerned about it passing a safety inspection with a huge hole in the bumper and all....

My brother and sister-in-law have 2 Escapes- his is a company car, and hers is his old company car which they let him buy when it was time to turn it in. They seem to like them.

Yeah, that car had quite a few problems. My husband *loved* it, though. He still defends it and says it was a really good car.

Umm yeah - most cars don't need a new engine after only ten years!!!

I was parked next to a Commander today- they're soooo pretty! And totally out of my price range....

I also really love the new Passats, but 1) out of my price range and 2) gas would be steep- they're made to take premium! 😱

Oh, I love Passats.

I'm tempted to buy a used one next year. We'll need a second car when I am in med school.

Probably out of my price range for a second car even if we do go used. 🙁

FABULOUS. 👍 I would quit medicine if I had to do one - I'm serious.

I am just so anxious to get started with learning path. Now that my vacation is over, I just want to get into it.

That's definitely peaking my interest towards path. Now if rads gets on board with that system...

Is there a possibility of this happening? I haven't heard about this.

Psych doesn't really have an intern year either, though they do a few months of medicine and a few months of neuro their first year.

I think so! He is a HO-3. :laugh: We will at least see each other at conferences and stuff and I am sure that at some point we will be working on the same service.

This would all be moot though if I match into the current object of my lust, RadOnc 😍

today my friends and i are getting out of the car at the mall and this older gentleman parks next to us--he's driving a brand new yellow neon complete with pink and purple flames ALL OVER IT. i have never in all my days seen a car so girly and bright--looked like it got into a fight with a bag of skittles or something. we were cracking up sooo bad.

one of the current objects of my lust is pediatric psych.....one of my friends is gonna be a pediatric dentist and we're gonna have a practice together

ew. I definitely won't be getting a car like THAT.

one of my adolescent clients insists she's not attention-seeking. her car is the brightest yellow I've ever seen. not school-bus yellow- BRIGHT yellow. (of course, her mother's car is lime green, and mom's sig other's is orange, so I guess the non-attention-seeking apple doesn't fall far.)

that rocks!! I shadowed a psychiatrist for about a month which is what got me interested in psychiatry but he never saw any children.... 🙁 I volunteer at a center that helps children who have been abused and that's kind of what got me interested in pediatric psychiatry....I minored in psych and did research in it--I wish that I would have majored in it--I find it so interesting

it takes a special kind of patience to deal with the parents of the kids who need a psychiatrist. most people do not have it, and I include myself in that.

however, there was some recent buzz about the shortage of child/adol psychs (which is really severe) and the possibility of med school loan forgiveness for those who do the child/adol fellowship. someone's going to wipe away my loans? I'll LEARN to have the patience. 😎

(pssssst... I'm a Buckeye, too! or at least that's where I grew up. 👍 )

One of my colleagues in the lab was an oto, and he did a 30 hour surgery. 😱
