I guess so. deschutes stopped posting for a while with starting residency, studying for Step 3 (and new bf). There were a lot of M4s posting about residency apps and stuff but after the match it really slowed down. I hope it picks up again this year once the app cycle gets going again.
New bf? I am so out of the loop! 😱

yeah it was raining here all last week--and now it's REALLY humid--lots of giant bugs attacking me/getting smashed all over my car

banana!! 🙂 🙂
It's not super humid here in WA. It rarely is. We are just not used to any real heat. The other issue here is that the pollen count is very high. My store sold out of nearly every sort of OTC antihistamine this weekend.

yeah you have all the good stuff behind the counter anyways

for the record, skyline is a greek-style chili with a few secret ingredients which are rumored to be nutmeg and/or cinnamon and/or cocoa. if you've ever had pastitsio at a good greek restaurant, it essentially tastes the same. i'm not a fan of the hot sauce, but I will scarf down at least one bowl of oyster crackers per visit. which is pretty much every time I go home to see the fam.

oh- and they can the stuff, too. so I think I've got about 6 cans of chili in my cabinet.

I will say this- my aunt made me a basket of all Cinti-made food items for Xmas, and she included a can of chili that already had the spaghetti in it. that was kind of :barf: , but I managed to choke it down. 😀

I spent a week with my niece a few weeks ago. I love her more than anybody else in the world - words can't describe. But it made me realize that I'm not ready to adopt yet.

i definitely want to have some children--hopefully in the "near" future but whenever it happens it will be the right time

beary--don't doubt your ability to be a mom right now based on your experience with your niece--anyways, when you are ready i know you will give a child a wonderful loving home--and turn him/her into a cilia loving pathologist/evil genius.

i saw a story on tv where a couple adopted 6 children from russia (all the children were siblings) it was really touching.

hey at least you live in an area where you can just head to the drive-thru. I have to deal with the canned stuff, which of course is just not the same.

who here besides me can eat a cheese coney (no onion) one-handed while driving? 😳

OK, I'm so going to bed now. 'night all.

soft tacos are bad too b/c the lettuce and cheese goes everywhere--good night 🙂

I would have to do it one-handed to work the window with the other hand so I could barf out of it.

I would like to be sleeping now but just got attacked by a BEE, in my BED!! I chased it around my room and now it is in my closet. I don't think it can get out. I am lucky I didn't get stung. 😱 Sure jazzed me up though when I was just about to fall asleep.

I hate when this thing gets slow...I miss the big convos. I think I turned the humidity control in the house down too low last night. My throat is killing me. 😱

Will I be productive today? Oh, wouldn't it be nice? Nice, yet highly improbable. The boxes are beginning to haunt me.

I had a dream last night that I bought chicken at a BMW dealership. It cost $550. WTF? Maybe it is a sign. I have to take the BMW in b/c of some sort of leak. I wonder if they will let me sneeze there for anything less than $550. Ugh.

yeah, the only thing is that the first 3 weeks of this rotation are pretty much a different location every day so i dont really have a chance to settle in you know? some people are on ward medicine for the first 3 weeks so they see the same people and have the same daily routine everyday, i think thats a better way to start. as is i'm constantly feeling lost.
  just wait.

We were talking about this yesterday. How some 3rd years want to jump right into the "core rotations" like surgery and stuff b/c they are gunners. Then they get there with NO experiences and are like .... whhhhhhhhaaaaa? H&P's take 3 hrs etc. 😉 Plus with lost interns, it doesn't make a good mix.

 Well, the second one is true, anyway. I only wish the rest of them were true. 😛

I was having a very good conversation with my dad tonight about med school. He was telling me about what med school was like 45 years ago when he went, and I was telling him about organ system modules and PBL and M1s getting clinical exposure and all the other kinds of things that med schools do now that they never used to do in his day. And he was telling me how he went to school with some pharmacists, and how hard it was during pharm b/c those guys knew just everything and he didn't. But he did so much better than they did during the clinical years because he had spent his summer between M2 and M3 externing and they hadn't. He didn't have to take the MCAT or do a residency. Pretty crazy, huh? He said that he wants to come visit me in med school and sit in on some classes. 🙂
way cool Q 👍

Wow you are strange 😉 😛

But be productive. It will be nice to be productive. You'll feel oh so much better. (but make sure you nap)

Banana - those pics of Bear were cute!!!!

I know, I like the early morning posting too. I have been having so much trouble sleeping to a respectable hour. Not to mention, the server drags late at night. (Maybe it is experiencing indigestion from hearing what BB eats everyday. 😉 )

Can anyone answer this question:

"Who's cuisine reigns supreme?"

I know I can't.....although I might be able to answer the question: "Whose cuisine reigns supreme?" 😛

And I'd have to say Mario Batali's, if you were talking about last night's Iron Chef.

yeah, I have trouble sleeping in general recently. I can't sleep through the night without waking up after sleeping maybe 4 hours or so ...

see it's easy for guys to get haircuts--last time i went the lady went all edward scissorhands on me

NO kidding. I avoid any store that has the words "great" "clips" "fantastic" or "walmart" for haircuts since mine was butchered months ago.

I'm getting mine cute on Friday - going with lots of layers this time to make a long shag. I hate blow-drying in summer, but my hair just doesn't look the same, so maybe with more layers it will get more life.

My dad is awesome. If you ever saw the movie "Patch Adams," that is just like how my dad is, minus the clown suit. He's absolutely crazy. You never know what he's going to do or say next. He dresses up like a vampire for Halloween (complete with blood dripping out of his mouth), squirts patients with water guns, and wears t-shirts with dirty jokes on them. One of them says "I have crabs" in Latin, and the picture shows a Roman statue scratching itself. I don't think I can describe the one he wore today; it's just not appropriate for this forum.

That's awesome. I can't stand the Patch Adams movie. But, I come from Chester, IL. and know about his kooky fight to release a criminal.

Whoa you are back.

Is that a husky in your avatar??

My friend just got the cutest siberian husky and it even behaves well and stays quiet. It was soooooooooo beautiful.

Its coming along good. I'm going to go study for a couple of hours and then go to the lab to do some research stuff.

This is kinda crazy. It just feels so weird being back in the USA again. Everything in my environs here seems like memories from a lifetime ago. Especially the materialism. I can't believe 6 weeks ago I was involved in expensive, lavish hobbies. Seeing pictures of friends on facebook worsen the situation. I suppose living in bare minimum conditions takes its toll on you. Most things in the US are entirely unnecessary for survival...

...sorry I just needed to get that off my chest.
