I don't post on rSDN anymore. I quit last summer along with SCUBADOC!!!!!!!!!!


Last summer I posted everywhere and a lot cuz the summer was just sooooooooo boring and I wasn't going to take the MCAT right away again.

So I'm in Wisconsin right now at my aunt's house. But before that I was in Chi town for a wedding of a close family friend's son.

The reception was a lot of fun but the wedding itself wasn't all that great cuz it was massively disorganized.

On the bright side we got to see some other old family friends of ours who also happen to be the cousins and aunt/uncle of my best friend from back where I grew up. These same people were also the 1st people my parents met in the mid 80's when they first came to Florida. Even after not seeing them for more then 9 years since they left our hometown, they are still some of the most humble people and I really am glad to have been able to spend time with them. They now have a grand daughter who is the most adorable thing ever!!! I just wanted to hug her and squeeze her. That's how adorable she is. 😀 😛

I'll be in wisconsin the whole of this week but mostly just studying for MCAT and trying to take some full lengths.

will report more later on my trip.

But in other news.........

When we were on our way from the airport, I saw a sign that said Amish Furniture and it made me think of Nikki.

Just had to share that one.

You don't want to know. It was a few conversations back. I was just responding to a post I just saw from A-man in this thread.

its another student forum, but not helpful. Its a much much worse version of the Everyone/lounge forums.

There's only one or two posters there I like. In particular, Severus. She's very comical at times. Mushy used to post there too, though I don't know if she still does. Another poster by the name of Scubadoc used to post there but she and I stopped posting there at the same time.

A guy who used to post on SDN, known as Kinetic, and another old poster by the name streetphilosopher also posted there. I think kinetic still does but don't know about the other poster.

It was created by people who thought that the Dr.'s lounge forum was too restrictive.

yeah, seriously. rSDN = rebel SDN. a bunch of them left sdn because they complained the mods were too restrictive. guess what the first thing they did on their new site was? create moderators. :laugh: anything goes over there, its not so much a site like sdn as it is a site to just attack and belittle people. thats just my personal opinion. i think the traffic jumps on that site whenever sdn is down since so many regulars post over there but its just a waste of time and pretty much the home of the banned sdn trolls who like to bitch about and attack sdn and anything else. oh and meg, some of those names over there arent the same people as over here. yaah for example is an sdn mod who is a pathologist but rSDN's "dr.yaah" isnt him, its someone else. thats why Q joked about registering on rSDN just so that no one takes her name.

Hi all. Don't have much time, but just dropping in to say hi. So, did we ever find out what lil's score was? I'm asking b/c I saw people yelling at her to study. 🙁

Guju, you missed that convo like a month ago. :laugh: How is your studying going?

I agree with meg and Molly that Pritzker (and the people who go there) are totally awesome. 😀

Well I took a few days off from studying cuz we had wedding functions to attend to in Chicago!!!!!! But now I'm in Molly and Prowler's lovely homestate in Wisconsin at a cousin's house so starting tomorrow it will be back to doing full lengths and studying while at my cousin's house without the added stress of needing to be a the clinic to volunteer or lab to do my research stuff for a few days. That's going to be nice cuz I'll get a lot done.

Weather up north is sooooooo much better then in Florida in the summer. There's no humidity and not much rain and the foliage is soooooo different then Floridian foliage.

My aunt's house is built on what used to be a huge farm so its right behind another farm.

Prior to that when we were in Chicago, we didn't go downtown but rather in a couple of suburbs of Chicago.

We went to St. Charles which is where our old hometown friends are. And before St. Charles we went to Naperville which is where my friends who they knew from back in Memphis are.


I think suburbs around Chicago are gorgeous. I especially fell in love with the house that we were at in St. Charles. Their basement was sooooooooo cool because it was basically converted into what could be a one bedroom apartment. There was a full kitchen, full bathroom, and 2 sofas plus an arm chair, coffee table, and big screen tv downstairs in the basement. There was also a pool table set up and a folded up ping pong table. And they could still easily fit a bed downstairs. It was very different then what you see in the South so it was cool.

The friends that we went to visit in Naperville used to live in Columbus, Ohio for like 16 years.

I never went to their house in Ohio. Didn't even visit Ohio when my cousin from India was in college there.

Not feeling so hot...well maybe too hot. I keep getting dizzy and having these little palpitations...I think I am tired and worked too long in the heat yesterday. I wish it would go away though...I don't have the time or desire to deal with this stuff. 👎

Does anyone know good migraine meds I could request from my neuro? My migraines are coming back. The surgeon says he doesn't think operating will help but I sure wish he would. :barf:

I was so sad though because Carl Edwards was running in the top 5 all race and then Greg Biffle took him out right at the end and he ended up finishing 39th. 😡

Hi Ana,

I am so sorry to hear about your migraines. They must be really bad if you want to have brain surgery. 🙁

Triptans are the obvious thing that everybody takes for migraines. They are very helpful. I have occasionally had migraines and heard from somebody that reglan (metoclopramide) helps and I tried it and totally agree. This is typically used for nausea so migraines are an off-label use, but it has few side effects and is something you could try if triptans don't work for you.

Warning - a vent! 😉

I am soooooo sick of "experts" on parenting boards. I'm a freaking lactation counselor, someone asked a breastfeeding related question and I answered. Then I get some random mom saying I'm wrong and says a bunch of facts but no references. WTF??

I think I fixed her, though. I don't think she'll ever pretend to be an expert on a topic she knows little about again.

Wow, I'm a b*@&# tonight! Doesn't help that I feel like dog poop. I've been battling mastitis all day. 🙁
