Good luck to you A-man. Remember to focus on PATH. (I'm just kidding of course). Don't burn yourself out either - take breaks and take a little time to yourself every day to post here, watch TV, go out with friends, whatever relaxes you.

Edit: When I was studying for boards I got into such a frenzy that I actually lost 20 pounds. It was totally not worth all that looking back. So I definitely know how you feel.

I heard from my long lost Belfast flatmate today. Still insane! I miss that guy 🙁

I don't want to study for my finals. I expected like 12 new pages when I woke up and there's nothing. 🙁

Do I really NEED to study? O-chem isn't really necessary is it?

Hi,

I am a high school student who has a big i-search paper due soon. we have to have to primary sources who are doctors or nurse. I am researching progeria, macrosomia, and lobster claw deformity. If you know anything about this please help me.

Thank You,
Lookingforhelp

Have you considered going to a local hospital?

Hmmmmmm today is a sad yet exciting day.

Graduations from college I think are always some of the most exciting but yet the saddest moments. Its a time when all your closest friends leave and move to different areas. My best friend is moving back to South Florida today and unless she gets in med school in Tampa, I don't know if she'll be moving back here in the future. I'm kinda sad because I'm going to miss her sooooooooooo much next year. She was the one person who's truly been there for me for almost my whole time I've been at USF. Then there's tons of both undergrad and grad students who are leaving and its going to feel different without everyone I knew there.

Hey Guju - I feel for you. I remember what that was like. Believe it or not, you'll get through it - free nights and weekend minutes are a life-saver, that's all I have to say.

Looking back at it from 2 years later, you get through it and you have all those wonderful memories to help you. I loved college, but looking back I don't think I would want to go through it again. I had such wonderful experiences that I don't think I would want to risk changing anything.

Sending you some SDN 😍 cause I know it's hard.

i definitely understand what you're going through, guju. i graduated last year, and it really felt like everyone left (grad school, med school, jobs, etc. all in other cities). i do my best to keep in touch with ppl, but i do miss them. fortunately i have my boyfriend and a few (newer) friends around to keep me sane. it seems tough now, but you'll make it. 😀

and as ana said, free nights and weekends are AWESOME. i didn't know what to do at first...i felt like i should have been doing homework or something. but eventually, i realized that it was just time to relax, and it's been great. i attribute that free time to the only reason why i made it through this 2nd time of studying for the MCAT.

Stop saying that!!!!!!! You know you will have done great!!!!!! I just know it. Now stop saying that and thinking its a possibility.

Now back to the topic of your daughters, you'd be surprised by how smart the little ones can be.

I can't stop saying it because I worry that it might be true. I didn't feel great leaving the test center but I've tried to not let that get to me because I never felt great about any of my practice tests. I feel worse about the test the further away we get from it. 🙁

Little ones can be very bright - I think my 2.5 year old directs all of her intellegence towards being stubborn, though. Hmm, she probably gets that from me! She was very sweet this afternoon, though. She actually went down for her nap without a tantrum! Woohoo!

Must stop eating conversation heart candies .... I'm going to make myself sick! I bought a big bag to stuff into favors for a baby shower I'm throwing next weekend and I've almost eaten the whole thing myself over a few days.

I'm going to have to buy another bag for the party ....

😳

I should be studying but instead I'm sitting here eating ice cream 🙄

Are you almost done, Oxeye? Or are you taking classes at all?

I took this school year off because of the baby. 🙂 Studying for the MCAT was more than enough.

I have three more prereqs to finish. I'm taking two of them in the Fall and the last in the Spring.

Who are people rooting for in the Kentucky Derby? I don't know anything about the horses.

I think I am going to get a new outfit for graduation festivities. Maybe some nice slacks and a blouse.

Ooooo shopping! 😀

I dunno anything about horses either, I usually just pick the one with the coolest name

Finals... cute baby... cute baby... finals.... Hmmm...

Wanna trade?

And tonight I get to go out with some of my dad's friends :barf:

At least I get a free dinner

LOL - you can keep your finals. 😉

I'm always up for free food. We're having KFC for dinner tonight with some friends. Great diet food, huh? I have 20 pounds of baby weight left to lose and this is not going to help.

I love race horse names. 🙂 I show dogs and they have some funny names too.

One of my dogs is "Moebius Strip" - we call him Moby. If you know what a moebius strip is, you get major nerd points from me! 😀

We could have a support group on the random thread: you for losing baby weight and me for losing MCAT weight

i'm trying to find a dress for my friend's wedding reception next week (note: v. scary to me that my friends are married already!!). i have a nice dress, but it's black and i don't know if black is very appropriate for a wedding reception. i looked around today but just ended up getting very frustrated.

I wore a nice black dress to my brother's wedding. I thought it was fine.

Support group sounds good to me. 😉 I actually only have 5 pounds to lose until I'm at my pre-second pregnancy weight. I have 20 pounds to get to my pre-first pregnancy weight.

I've worn black to a wedding before, I don't think it's a big deal. I wore a black top and a black skirt with white polka-dots. I didn't have anything else that would work and didn't have the money to buy a new outfit just for that. I like the idea of putting a light colored cardigan over it.

I have about 20 pounds to lose to be back to a "healthy" weight but if I can get back in the gym I think that'll come off quickly.

okey dokey. yea i think i'll just add some color elsewhere (i think i have a scarf that i can use). i also tried looking for a cardigan today but i wasn't able to find anything not old lady-ish. i'll keep looking around.

and i don't weigh myself very often so i dunno how far i'm off, but i definitely think i could stand to lose at least 5. i've been going to a muscle conditioning class at my work 3 days a week, though, so that's starting to make me feel a little better 🙂

Whoo hoo - That's so good for you! I think weight training/conditioning is the best thing a woman can do. We're too fixated on weight and not worried enough about overall health!

I'm trying to find an overall body pic of me to show you what I mean... oh man that sounds bad huh?

 yep, totally. i think it's great, and pretty much all of the people in the class are women (including our ridiculously hyper but great instructor), so we're all encouraging each other to push harder.
in related news, i read about some of the crap that premeds eat on that bachelor chow thread and i was in SHOCK! who heats up ketchup packets to use for pasta sauce? really??

LOL, that does sound bad! 😉

I agree that it's so much better to focus on health than weight. I try not to worry as much about the actual number on the scale but it's hard sometimes.
