ana, don't take any crap from newbies. they just don't realize how things work around here. and i'll admit, i've had bad luck with the search sometimes too.

guju, best of luck with your MCAT studying.

back to amcas stuff for me.

yeah he has a little sign "will work for oats"

have you ever seen the movie "Half baked" ?

one of the characters sees a police horse in NYC and starts feeding it stuff he just bought at the market. A few minutes later he goes to pet the horse and the horse falls over dead. Turns out the horse was a diabetic and the guy killed him, the cops took him to jail as a cop killer with all the lovely benefits that title entails in the criminal justice system.

Ok, the dude's CHOSEN screen name is PERCY! What the heck kinda name is PERCY? I went to elementary school with a girl whose last name was Percy. She was a bit creepy too.

Percy - it even sounds uptight. Back off PERCY.... guju's got a posse! :meanie:
*rounds up the amish troops*

I don't know what has gotten into me today. I left Mr. Percy Wilkins (that's obviously his name) a "nice" note on the thread in question. :meanie:

Hey guju - saw your comment about piano on my facebook album. I play the piano. My husband is a piano teacher/composer/concert pianist (in that order, too  ).

I used to play a lot better than I do now. I don't get to practice much anymore but I'm trying to get back into it. My husband is *amazing*, though. he puts me to shame and I'm really not half-bad.

A, A-man, (now I can't remember them all!) It's those PW years that taught me to be this way. The congregation can be brutal! 😡

Awww, maybe we need to do myspace so PW can be included?

I don't like my stupid facebook account anyway because it wouldn't let me pick my correct school.
i have a myspace account too...i haven't used it much yet, though.

yeah--i used to play piano as well. i didn't like it very much b/c it would have been much funner to play that game on nintendo where you shoot the ducks. i always used to cheat and put the gun right against the TV.

Me too! I started lessons at 6 and took them until 18. I was SUPPOSED to get the piano I grew up with for a wedding gift, but it's still in Southern Illinois. It's the BEST stress reliever (besides nook-nook).

I took piano lessons as a child. My mom plays by ear.

Ok, all of you pianists are going to hate me for this...we have a beautiful full-sized grand downstairs in our living room...but neither hubby nor I play. I keep saying that I will take lessons again. It was his father's (he died in '98) and when his mom passed away last year, we got it. There were people who wanted to buy it, but I thought that my husband would regret getting rid of it. So, we are getting ready to pay to have the thing (though beautiful) moved...again.

and why am i supposed to hate you?

i haven't touched my piano in years... but i am pretty sure i'll bring it with me when i get a house

I have run into people who see this huge, beautiful piano and find out we don't play and think it is a waste. Which it is. Perhaps I was wrong...

Anastasis - I posted in your "catty" thread 😉

Percy needs to get a clue.

I need a piano.

I need professional landscaping.

I need a painter.

I need to win the lottery.

I need chocolate.

gimme, gimme, gimme!

Show how you might carry out the following synthetic transformations. Include in your answer all intermediate compounds and reagents required to effect your transformations.

WHY MOMMY whhhhhyyyyyyy??

... because if you do plenty of synthetic transformations, honey, you'll grow up big and strong...

I've known quite a few people (wealthier people) who bought a piano purely for decoration. It does make a beautiful piece of furniture, IMO. It's even more beautiful when it's played, though.

We have three pianos - a grand in the house and two uprights in my husband's piano studio. My husband eventually wants to build a bigger studio and replace the uprights with grand pianos. He's counting on my physician income to do that!

I need to win the lottery.

We're in the process of the first right now. Our backyard has been unlandscaped for the past 18 months we've lived here but it should be done by the end of the week! Yay!

I need to win the lottery to pay for all of it!
