Hey now! I already went out to dinner tonight at PF Changs (YUM!!!). I'm just relaxing now watching SNL, surfing SDN, and reading MCAT books.
Yum, I love PF Changs. I'm eating animal crackers, which isn't nearly as good. But the vending machine downstairs doesn't sell Chinese fusion, unfortunately. 😛

Hmm...keeping lettuce fresh for lettuce wraps might be difficult.
Don't worry. We'll just have to genetically engineer some long-lasting crispy lettuce. We can have a side business in selling produce.

Ewwww... I don't think I want to know.

I'm headed to bed. I was watching Munich but I was too tired to finish it!

thai is okay every now and then. i'm all about the vietnamese lately

i have some distant family over in utah who are mormons but *yaawwwnnnnn* they aren't super serious about it. I see them every once in awhile and they are wonderful. have like 6 or 7 kids--i can't keep track of them all :meanie: my distant cousin, who is a little younger than me, is already happily married and expecting her first. her sister, who is a year younger, is in nursing school. very religious but not extreme--keep their kids on a tight leash but not in a scary way. and they drink tons of soda :meanie:

De nada , thanks i need it I am so nervous about chem tomorrow and phys i dont know anything, i need to get some hardcore studying done these grades determine whether or not I get into med school next sept, it's do or die time. i'm off.

Ugh, today is going to be fun. The baby kept me up all night. She felt warm and when I checked her temperature this morning it was 102. Poor thing! She also has a snotty nose.

And I think I ate something that didn't agree with me yesterday and I'm paying the price for it today - 'nough said. Blech .... so much for working on my personal statement today.

Thanks VD. I'm not so bad that I can't deal with the kids at least.

I'm more worried about the baby. I know a 102 fever isn't that bad (and I haven't even given her tylenol yet because she isn't acting *too* sick), but the only time she's ever had a fever before was from her shots. I just hope whatever this is, it's gone quickly (for both of us).

And I hope I can get a nap today!

hey it's gonna work out---don't get too anxious today as you are studying--stay calm and focused. You know by now how your prof's exams are so focus first on things that you think will be most important. If you get stuck on questions in your physics exam, just start drawing diagrams and writing out all relevant equations that you know and the solution may come to you. If your profs give partial credit, write down every freakin' thing that you know about how to solve a problem even if you can't solve it. In o-chem you may think of different possiblities for products/reagents--just write down everything that comes to mind and try to sort through it. Again if your prof gives partial credit, write down the name of the reaction if that's all you can remember and guess the product/reagents. If you can't remember how a reaction mechanism begins, see if you remember anything about the middle/end of the mechanism and then work backwards. For synthesis, I always work backwards--and WRITE IT DOWN--don't just try to hold everything in your head. good luck :luck:

one time my little sister had a fever of about 100 and my mom held off on giving her some tylenol b/c she hates it. but within a couple hours her fever was higher and she ended up in the hospital b/c we couldn't get it down. you should definitely give her some tylenol or motrin right away imho

My kids' pediatrician has told me not to treat it unless they are obviously uncomfortable. She's acting pretty much normal at the moment (playing with toys on the floor) so I think she'll be okay.

Of course now I'm more worried!

Okay - I'm less worried now. Her temperature is down to 100.7 rectally now.

I'm keeping a close eye on her, though. I don't want her feeling miserable. I think I'm going to give her something for her stuffy nose anyway (and that has tylenol in it too). She's so congested. 🙁

Nikki2002 said:
oh yeah--my little sis def. wasn't playing or anything--just sleeping/crying alot so she probably had something much more serious.

Poor thing. 🙁 My older daughter was sick like that when she was 15 months old and had pneumonia.

I hate it when little kids/babies are sick. I'm definitely not going into peds!

Hello random MCAT friends! Oxeye, I sure hope you and your daughter feel better soon!

Congrats on graduating Nikki. I graduated this weekend too!

It was absolutely wonderful to have my family here but my folks just left and I am happy to have some peace and quiet. 😳 It will be nice to have a day to rest and just do my normal things.

Me too - I actually gave money to his campaign.

I am very much looking forward to 2008 - one of my favorite things about living in Iowa was having all the candidates here so early!

I'm looking forward to the 2008 elections so I can fully explore my love-affair with John McCain. 😍

I must admit I didn't vote for Bush (Libertarian straight ticket). But that has more to do with the less sexy gov't spending issues than anything that gets people all worked up.

my stepdad spent two absolutely horrific years in Iraq. it was fun watching my mom cry and being sick to my stomach watching CNN everyday for 2 years. My little sister was just a baby when he left and when he came back she didn't even know who he was. People are never the same after they come back from over there. But I try not complain too much because at least my family member came home--that's more that a lot of people can say and it absolutely INFURIATES me. Like right now on yahoo the first headline is "Attacks across Iraq leave at least 26 dead" Everyday it's the same damn thing--people are dying and it's like no one notices anymore. Yeah--except the 26 families who will be paying for this for the rest of their lives. I cannot wait until this year's elections and 2008 because revenge is a b*tch. If I had $5 and I had to choose between buying toilet paper or donating $$ to Clinton, I would choose Clinton. I would wipe my ass with sandpaper if it meant we could get a democratic woman president in the white house.

I agree with your feelings about Bush and the war. It makes me absolutely furious that we're wasting our soldiers' lives and our tax dollars rebuilding Iraq when people here lack basic necessities and Osama is still at large. It's been harder than ever to get NIH funding lately, but we have plenty of money somehow to buy more tanks and planes and bombs. I think that although Bush himself probably means well, he has surrounded himself with some unredeemably evil men as his advisors, particularly Cheney and Rumsfeld. I also will swear to my dying day that he came into office with the intent to invade Iraq by hook or by crook. All that being said, I can only hope that the Democrats do NOT run Hillary, because if they do, I guarantee you that we are going to have another Republican president. I think the Reps could probably run a real elephant and it would beat Hillary. She's just too far to the left and too polarizing to be able to win.

I still like John McCain. There is a man who has been to war and won't go wasting our financial, political, and moral capital on boondoggle invasions at the expense of real problems elsewhere; notice that we never hear anything about Afghanistan either any more. 🙄 Although I don't always agree with his positions, I have to respect the man.

where do you come up with that stuff??!?!?!

i like McCain too, i was so pissed when he didnt get the nomination in 2000. 👎 if 2008 turns out to be McCain VS Hillary then that'd be nice. lets see though, i just hope the dems dont run another mortician. i SWEAR that kerry looks like he works at a freaking cemetary.

Yeah, that's true. I didn't like either candidate in the last election. I finally did end up voting for the mortician as a protest against the Iraqi invasion, but I really had to hold my nose to do it. :barf:

Is McCain a republican? Democrat? i can't tell sometimes--i don't like him and he annoys the crap out of me. I think Clinton could easily win it because at least she f-ing knows where she stands and is true to her party. Plus she is a woman and it's about time.

McCain is a Republican but a very very moderate one.

I have to admit that I hate Hilary Clinton with a burning passion. I don't like her politics and personally she pisses me off.

Crazy? Perhaps.... but, we don't need a lunatic. Dean was not qualified...to do ANYTHING!

I guy I went to high school with never came home. When I worked in news, I was on the Pentagon/DoD email list and every afternoon I would read who died and how. One day, a mother called the bureau and somehow she got me. Her son was in Ramadi and he had called her to tell her that he loved har and that things were getting extremely bad at that moment where he was. She call us to find out what was going on. I ended up getting ahold of our Pentagon correspondent and he found out some stuff for her...but I ended up staying on the phone with her for probably close to 15 mins perhaps. Talking personally. That is an eternity in news time.

I journaled that evening about the fact that, despite all the big wigs I had met and worked with....THAT would be a day that I would never forget. She was special.

That's why I like him. I'm a RINO. 😀

I wouldn't go as far as to say that I hate Hillary, but she does scare me....unlike some of you, I'm old enough to remember when she tried to nationalize health care. :scared:

hey. hey now. he was qualifed. way qualified.

and what was he qualified in?

he was qualified to be a crazy screamer! RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr

where are you Dr. Dean?!?!?! 🙁

and seriously. i think we do need someone crazy to run this country of lunatics. doofuses don't cut it. mommy/daddy figures don't cut it.

christopher walken does it. he'll tap dance his way to the white house... with dean screaming in behind him

OK, I promised myself I wasn't going to get into this but I do feel the need to ask why Dean's qualifications were somehow less satisfactory than GWB's qualifications for presidency.

i never take politics seriously anymore. and i used to be all gung ho.

it's better to live in a dream than deal with the reality.

call me immature, but i'm happy.

and has anyone seen runway moms on discoery health? CUTE BABIES
