if it was sugar free gum your diagnosis is going to be diarrhea.

seriously, the sorbitol in sugar free gum/cookies is a laxative. check out the packages, "may cause diarrhea if consumed in excess."

just got home from the hospital. dude, it was so cool to see my initials up on the Peds ER board under the "physician" column! i basically did the history and physical on the kids with the resident next to me and filling out the chart as i did the interview/exam. then i got to present to the attendings with the resident standing next to me. very cool stuff tonight, probably like 5-6 respiratory or diarrheal viruses, one laceration, one abscessed tooth and 1 teenager with a numb toe after a football injury.
