This is a place to chill and talk about anything besides the MCAT. 😎

So I got this letter from UTMB's MD/PhD program today congratulating me on my MCAT score and giving me all this info on MD/PhD. Um - I didn't apply MD/PhD. I wonder if it was just a blanket letter.

If we get caught, we're not going to white-collar resort prison. No, no, no. We're going to federal POUND ME IN THE ASS prison.
So we've got Samir Naga...naga...nagonna work here anymore!

We did that at Iowa when we were really interested in having somebody in the MSTP and they hadn't applied.

(So take that as a really good sign. 👍 )

That means you are a stellar applicant. 😉

Hey, can someone here answer this...
When you get your score back on the real MCAT, does it have a breakdown of what kind of topics you missed or anything more in depth than just what you scored in each section???

Nikki2002 said:
no it doesn't show a specific breakdown--just gives your scores and your percentile ranking
So nothing like...you got a 9 in biological sciences cause you missed all the orgo questions...ya dumb f**k! 😕

No - but how cool would it be if it did - I wonder if they'll do that with the CBT

Hate to crash the party, but I got this as well even though I have no connection to TX and no desire to be a Dr^2. Yet I did get a straight MD recruitment from WashU today too. Give the mail another day to travel south my favorite score twin, and I'm sure you'll have it too 😀 .

Hey, is it time for me to cue up Chariots of Fire or what?

thanks. sometimes it makes me sad that some people just can't let others have their view points. i'm an optimist though 😀

yes, well, and I know others who do it. the doc I work with now has an architect husband, and she's in a specialty where she's pretty well 8:30-5 Mon-Fri, and covers maybe q3 weekends, but rounds take her all of about 2 hours max. they have a 14 y/o son, who clearly adores both of them, and is a good kid (as far as I can tell so far).

so it can work.

Huh - guess it's going out to 40+ scores.

I'm having a huge debate about whether I want to finish Wash U's secondary. :barf: I'm stressed enough as it is

Definitely do it! I quote from said letter's second paragraph, "We have a history of accepting bright students like you into our medical school." This is directly after "Congratulations on your strong showing on the April 2006 MCAT." If that doesn't cement them as a score-*****, I don't know what will.

 Have you done any of the Kaplan discretes or subject tests? They have some good orgo stuff, IMO.

grrr. how do you disable that stupid e-mail confirmation on SDN. It is driving me nuts. I thought I disabled it, but apparently not
