A - I like hearing about the days on the wards. Its great to get pespective. **** those who are the haters. We'll beat them up with our amish brass monkeys. I'm sick of the ********* on SDN. :meanie: I used alot of badwords. maybe I should go to the cursing thread. 😀

Oh, well i tok kaplan and had the flashcards...and never use them..then a question on my BS section came up and I never would have learned it in my classes but i checked and it was on those damn flashcards 😡

Hey Mods, is there a way I can move a thread aI started between forums? I posted a general premed question in the preosteo thread(actually in response to one of your comments on another thread mushy, but i didnt want to hijack that thread), but preosteo gets no love, people post at a ridiculously slow pace on there.

busy. i'm just not posting about it on SDN anymore to not get that whole, "oh... some people wish they were in your shoes 🙄 " crap. ok right, like when those people become med students they are never gonna bitch about anything.

/rant

Oh A-man. I have seen some of those posts and they really piss me off.

Hope things are going ok for you. 🙂

You can request it. But only supermods or mods of that forum can move it I think. I see the thread but you have to give it time in pre-osteo. They'll get to it.

yea, thats fine, I really only wanted someone to answer and i was getting impatient, lol, kinda stupid to start a thread about it.

beary, that looks POSSIBLY like a really disturbing Jello mold, but otherwise, ummm... NO. it does not remind me of food. :barf:

It doesn't really remind me of a food either. But the classic description is that of a food. 😛

hola! 😍 😍 ready to kick some shelf booty on fri? lol
today was my last day on the peds floor. its amazing how much bonding there is in 3rd year, i've become REALLY good friends with my team mates, some of which i only knew as acquaintances in the first 2 years. it sucks moving on to ob now and leaving them, we're not on the same schedule since i was supposed to be on ob as my first rotation but flipped it with peds (my 2nd) so that i could start with something easier. they are all going on to family medicine. 🙁

it feels great to be done with a rotation though... well, ALMOST done. one more activity this friday and then i get the weekend off! 😍 plus, since they canceled the oral exam that use to be required in this rotation we have a free day tomorrow to just stay home and cram... i mean, "review" peds.

lol there's a placenta flashcard

Placenta

the organ formed by the uterus and extraembryonic membranes of the fetus. The placenta contains a network of capillaries through which exchange between the fetal circulation and maternal circulation takes place.

woowwww
remember that fetal and maternal blood never directly mix! ok, now you know as much about the placenta as I do.

i'll let you know if the first hand experience is as bad as beary says it is... remembers to put on gloves AFTER gowning. *thanks beary!* 😉

i used them big times and just annotated them with stuff from the chapters, near the end of my studying there was barely any space left on them and i'd just keep reviewing them over and over again.

Here is an ultrasound of the above pictured placenta:

Actually, I think I was sort of unfair with the gross pic. Ultrasonography is where the classic food description comes from.

just get a good night of rest and hit it up tomorrow, you're not really gonna assimilate anything if you're really tired. 🙂
Oh yeah, I have soo much on the study list tomorrow...if I don't get todays done then I will have to add that to tomorrows list too. 🙁

yeah--there is a PS one and BS one--came out last year. they are growing on me. i wonder if perhaps they are the flashcards from the classroom course only in book form??
I have seen those...I didnt like them too much...but I guess that is better than nothing. 😀

so today marks the anniversary of a big event in my life. but I kind of kept forgetting about it all day... which I think is a good thing.. means moving on. but then I get sad that I keep forgetting. and then I remember that it's a good thing it's not totally on my mind..... thumbs-down to vicious cycles. thumbs-up to moving on.

And a big DING DING for Nikki!!! I missed your post earlier!

It's a hydatidiform mole, classically described as a "bunch of grapes", esp. on ultrasound.

Nikki - the partial form is often caused by triploidy. 👍
