 Aww, come one...you know you want some. Peer pressure, peer pressure. Okay, Arsenic may have a point. I think I will skip the coffee...maybe I will go right to lunch. Hmmm, Chinese or Japanese?

My niece is 3 and has opinions about what to wear. 😉

She is so funny. She is a very even keeled kid and rarely has "tantrums", but if her mom get out a shirt or something she doesn't want to wear she will burst into tears.

Oh that is so cute that she'll cry over clothes!

My daughter did throw a tantrum yesterday over clothes actually. I gave her two outfits to choose from (because she likes the whole choice thing right now). She picked one, I went to put it on her, then she decided she wanted the other one. I don't let her change her mind once she picked one (because it will go on indefinitely) so she threw a complete fit. That was more of a power struggle, though - not actually having an opinion about the clothes.

So I was wondering last night when I couldn't sleep ...

What kind of people work in labs? Not a research lab, but the kind where they send your blood, pap smears, etc to do all those tests. Are those pathologists Beary?

I just realized last night that I didn't know how someone would get a job working there. Not that I'm thinking about it ... just curious. 😀

All PATHOLOGY baby.

I'm on micro right now, so we look at blood cultures, urine cultures, etc. On chemistry we do most other blood tests. Cytopathology are the folks who look at pap smears (basically just looking at features of specific cells, instead of the whole architecture of a tissue that you do on surg path).

you're such a proud pathologist. 😀

i hope you finally got something to eat!

hi beary *waves* any placentas today?

Nope!! 🙂

It is the 5 letter word that starts with Q that will not be named.

Though the computer systems are starting to go down because we have been on emergency power so long. Seriously, I feel like I live in a third world country with how often we lose power here.

A-man - you'll be fine. Best wishes on the shelf tomorrow.

Trying to remember what was emphasized... know those congenital TORCHES. And rashes. There's no pics, but you'll get some description. And basic child development. Mostly I remember the TORCHES. And be sure to think of STDs in an adolescent.

morning kids. off to work for al little. Took my last dose of antiboitic last night! Hopefully I'll start to feel better. Although apparently abx can make you a carrier longer.

I feel bad but I think I'm telling the professor I'm working for that I'm done for now. I think she wants me to learn a new software program in 2 days to do image analysis. Beary - its called scion. We don't get any tech support for this software either and its very hard to understand what I'm doing when I have no one to help me. As well as our microscope is doing funky things. Our rep couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Its dirty. duh. It needs to be cleaned so send someone out who CAN fix it.

Ok I'm done complaining. I need to update my blogs too. argh.

I wake up and I'm just lethargic and tired and not wanting to move. I just hope I get over this soon. At least I'm getting sleep at night now  And not waking up at 5am anymore!

😉 😍 to randomites and I hope you all have a great day!

1 more day!
Smiley Overload! It's hurting my eyes!

Are the shelf exams multiple guess?

Yep. They're ridiculous because the clinical scenarios are like a page long. Sometimes the question is very straightforward, but you have to read this novel to get to it. And then there a whole bunch of questions that don't even ring a bell in your head. So don't worry if you get those A-man. 😉

The whole freaking books?!?!?!

I'm trying to prep myself for my interviews - what stuff do I need to go over? Maybe I should just go do a search in pre-allo but it is so much more fun to ask you guys.

On a side note, why don't Texas schools love me? 🙁 Such a one sided affair.

Yeah - those were really helpful. I'm guess I was looking for something to make me feel better prepared. Mmmm Xanax.

Arsenic go READ. No SDN 😡

I went ot work, talked to my boss. I'm goign to get a head start on some grants we are applying to as I'm the offical technical consultant on instructions and submissions.

I got my topic. I now have to come up with stuff to write for a paper on kidney pathogens. blah. This is going to be a long night I fear. I want to get an outline done today and start writing it so I can maybe get the paper done by tomorrow night when the man comes home. Well at least a draft so I can just polish it this weekend. 😍

Ana - @ thunderstorm comment

I love the wittiness on this thread 😀 And the nerdiness. I think I've found my happy place!!

I always hate to be the meanie but you need to STUDY. NOT POST. I'll give you post breaks once an hour for 5 mins. (maybe an additional 5 for a special someone) but that is IT! 😡

I want you to ace your rotations with all honors so the sky is the limit for you in residency!!!

Molly - I'm an emotional type girl. And its a good thing they can't restrict the smilies 😛
