3rd time is a charm! 🙂 Welcome to the best thread on SDN: The Random Non-MCAT thread--PART 3!

This is a place to chill and talk about anything besides the MCAT. 😎

I had my pre-med committee interview this morning and it went SO well

I met with the head of the pre-med committee and an MD, and both of them were very nice and gave me a lot of confidence. They told me that my grades and academic work in bioengineerng were excellent, and said that although my MCAT is modest, they are confident I will get in 🙂 🙂 The also advised me to be ready to answer possible questions about my AP Physics credits for Mechanics and E&M, although they don't see it as much of a problem considering I took many more physics based classes as a bioe major. They said I have well balanced application, and they also said I have great presence and will do great in interviews. 😀 It was also nice to have an interview somewhat similar to a real one for "practice."

I don't know whether or not they were just telling me what I want to hear, but my confidence is 👍 👍 👍 right now!

sorry for the rant

i asked the registrar for my step 1 score this morning and she was so mean. she just said i had to wait until it came in the mail because she was way too busy registering all the rising sophomores which start back this monday to deal with looking up my score. 🙁

Oh for heaven's sake. It probably would have taken her less time to look it up than to explain to you how busy she was. 🙄

Just got back from orientation at the hospital...now I have to call the cancer center to go through their orientation. 👎 Since that is where I will be volunteering. I had to have ..yet another...TB test. It was hot, I was hungry, and the whole needle thing made me nervous. Yes, I hate needles....if they are going into my body! So, the nurse had me lie down while she did it. Everyone thought that I had passed out. Some doc walked in and asked if I was ok... it was actually kinda funny, but was the beginning of a fun conversation.

What will you be doing at the cancer center?

I hate orientations. Ours was 2 weeks long and should have been 1 day.

speaking of aim, remember the good old days when people used to have programs called "punters" and used to punt people off aim

the rebels of the early internet

I definitely had one. :meanie:
They also had mass mail rooms where people would massmail like 1000 Mp3s to your mailbox.

Haha I remember those. Man, I also remember spending hours trying to download songs on Napster when it first came out.

Ah the good old days. Some day, our kids will laugh at the thought of an internet that dialed like a telephone, yet our grandparents still can't understand that concept

are you serious? it would have taken her like 10 seconds--why is she so stressed out about registering people?? isn't she used to it by now--she is the registrar after all. BITCH!!!!!! maybe she is just a little slow in the head and doesn't realize how important this exam is. Does she always work there--maybe you can go when someone else is working and ask them. sorry you couldn't get your scores...... 🙁

Yeah. I haven't gone ninja on anyone in like 3 days and it's building up.

I had a confrontation with a coworker yesterday, but went the boring non-confrontational route instead of going ninja.

you gotta go ninja every few days or so.

I very very nearly went ninja on the cop that pulled me over yesterday. But visions of prison kept the ninja in check.

OK while I was typing that sentence I just popped a keyboard letter off of my brand new laptop that I have had for a week.

My darn sore throat keeps getting worse so I had to make an appt with my doc... at least I'll get to talk to my doc about med school again

If you send me a throat swab in the appropriate transport media, I can ID it for you. 😀

ugh, that sucks. stupid laptops! call them up and make them fix it (them meaning your laptop provider, of course 😛)

I just snapped it back on.

Is that a good sign or a bad sign, that the keyboards letters just snap on and snap off?
