Don't do it. In fact, be low key about who you tell and how you tell them. This may come as a surprise to you, but not everyone is going to be happy for you. People will find out eventually, and maybe sooner than you'd like them to, so you don't need to help them. 😉

How about a shirt that says "Yeah. I'm the one responsible for the crazy high median MCAT score at all the schools you're applying to. Whatcha goin' to do about it?"

ana--on the day of the mcat, make a trip to your nearest testing center and wait in the hallway. when the pre-meds come out for break, proclaim to them that you have gotten a 41 on the MCAT and that you are there for emotional support. try to hug them.

Nobody ever knew my score (of course it wasn't as spectacular as you folks). I only told my folks, and someone asked me once at school, and I said I forgot. :laugh:

If I get accepted by Northwestern or Pritzker, I will definitely be there! Besides, that's where my SDN love slave resides...I would be crazy to miss out on that! :laugh:

So I have been dating a girl I met in college for 2 years now, and things are getting tough.

She is about to start medical school at the University of Maryland. I am a year behind but applying now. This is obviously a tough situation, because we have become very close, basically to the point where I could see myself with her in the long run....and we talk about that a lot. Both of us going to medical school will probably be the ultimate test, and it just sucks because right now I honestly think that she is more important to me than anything (besides my family).

I really think that it is possible for this to work, and I really want it to, but I have doubts about if I am driven enough. Should I be putting medicine before her? Should I feel badly that I am more concerned with our relationship and really want to go to a school close to her (assuming I get in anywhere)? I know a lot of people on SDN would rip me for this, but I think it's possible to make it through medical school and keep a relationship, I just know it's going to be hard as hell.

I was just wondering what you guys thought, or know of any couples that made it or know any other stories.
She pretty much has the same feelings.

the sad thing was he had a pretty valid point, I was really just making an assumption based on a lot of what I have heard...but he took it to a whole new level
