the nice thing about 3rd year is that you really are working in the hospital everyday seeing patients, writing notes, and spending time with interns/residents/attendings. i like that aspect a lot more than the first 2 years when you're just sitting in classes for the most part. its easier in that you dont have to study for exams every 2 weeks or whatever and only have a few assignments throughout and a couple of exams at the end of 6 weeks but its harder in terms of time and responsibility. during the first 2 years at my school for example the usual schedule always ranges from something like 9AM-12PM or 9AM-4PM. On OB/Gyn when I was on labor and delivery i was getting to the hospital everyday at 545AM and leaving at 7PM. now on clinics i still show up at 545 but i get to leave at 5 at the latest. even on peds, when i was on the wards stuff started at 615AM. even though i'm not a morning person at all though i'm enjoying this year better because its more fun to see REAL patients with congestive heart failure, or placenta previa, or whatever instead of just reading about them which is what we do for most of the first 2 years. its definitely more fun, i just wish the hours were better and then it would be perfect.

that sounds cool--glad that you like it so much

only a pre-med or med student that has been studying for 2 months say that they are "cramming". 😍

"the mcat you can take in your sleep, the LSAT you have to study for months and months." - Something something law student

Nikki's response: "say it to my face, bitch!" I still LMFAO when i think of that.

oh yeah i have a fvcked up point of view. i'm definitely cramming though. i wish i could just "take it in my sleep" would be much less painful

Oxeye: I think I"m going to go drive the Yaris and the Matrix whenever I get back home. I'll post what I think about them. I've been reading around about Kias online and consumer reports says they're much more dependable than they were even a few years ago. I'm not doing to dismiss them out of hand until I read up some more. Plus they've got a 5 year warranty if they do turn out to blow big time.

Time for House!! Later chicas!!

btw, regarding the car stuff- I'm in the process of buying one right now. love Love LOVE the new Passats, but they're way out of my price range. whatever I get is going to need to last me through the next 2 years, then school and into residency. I looked at Jettas and Civics (online, never drove them) and found that comparing comparable cars, Jettas were a bit more pricey. then I realized that if I'm going to be moving (possibly a few times) while I have this, I'd prefer something in the small SUV range. I've narrowed it down to a RAV-4 or CR-V b/c of safety and best gas mileage in their class, and am going to test-drive the CR-V tomorrow morning. A friend of mine hooked me up with his Honda guy, and they're going to give me a sweet deal if I like what I'm seeing. I don't think Toyota can beat it, so I believe I'll be a pround Honda owner as of next week.

this CR-V is going to kick ass. the dude is going to give me the Friends and Family discount :hardy: I need to find out what colors they have available or can get. I don't want white... I like the black and the dark red they have out now.

is that the bright red? I don't know if that'll be available for me. I was thinking more of that burgundy color... I don't really want silver either, but I'd take that darker gray (I think they call it pewter). Whatver. I just want my in-dash 6CD changer!

(That way I can yet again not pay attention and rear-end someone else! Whoo hoo)

my car looks like this except its an EX so it has slightly bigger tires and extras like a rear spoiler, wind guard for the sun roof and the honda mudguards.

I'm applying to a total of one ... maybe the MD school but hopefully just DO. If I don't get in after 2 tries then I'm waiting until hubby is done with residency.
Does Oklahoma have an MD program and a DO program at the same school?

Have you considered the Saturn VUE at all? They have excellent safety ratings and the new hybrid model gets gas mileage like a car. Pretty cool! I think the hybrid is around the same price as the CR-V too.

I wish I could post ***** some more tonight, but I'm about to play some Donkey Kong on SNES! 😀

Btw, I've decided that I really want a wild cat (cheetah, african serval, etc). Some guy here in Orlando has a license and owns an african serval. He's looking to get a cheetah. He said it takes 1,000 hours of experience with the wild animals before you can get a license from the state! He said they're pretty nice, too, once you get bonded, which he did by having it sleep in his bed for over a year.

Some other guy's gf's aunt is a vet and has a black panther, bobcats, and a cougar! Freakin' sweet!

I'm still in the dark on that one. We're just innocent little angels, flitting around minding our own business....

and -WHAM- accusations come out of nowhere.

Oh, you know. They know. We all know. :meanie: There is no use in feigning innocence when the truth will catch up eventually. :meanie:
