I'm back from getting new clothes for my older girl. I LOVE sales. All the summer stuff is on clearance right now so I got some great deals. I got 4 complete outfits (either a dress, or a shirt and a skirt), two extra tops, and three outfits for the baby for $80 from Baby Gap and Old Navy. 😀 I also paid full price for one dress from Baby Gap because it was sooooo cute. It was worth full price to me. 😉 I can add a sweater and tights and she'll wear it during the Fall/Winter also.

Here's a picture of that one!

I think it's just soooooo cute. She looks really good in dark brown too. It matches her eyes. 😉

did u know britney and kevin have a shark tank in their basement?

Bah, sharks are no fun without lasers. I actually got the chance to go to South Africa and see some cheetah in the wild. We saw a mother on a night safari with her cubs (about 5), very cool. We went to this other place where they breed cheetah to keep the population large enough. You pay to go inside the pen. I went in the one with the cubs, one of the coolest things ever. One of my friends on the trip went with in the pen with the adult cheetah. They told him not to turn his back on the them, and he did, the cheetah ran towards him, but one of the workers there somehow stopped anything from happening. I don't know what he did because I was in the baby pen having fun. 😀

Btw, I've decided that I really want a wild cat (cheetah, african serval, etc). He said they're pretty nice, too, once you get bonded, which he did by having it sleep in his bed for over a year.

And..if it isn't nice..you will never know it. Hello nice kitty, bu-bye my head.

have u ppl seen those new jeeps--i think they are called jeep compass or something?
Hehehe, Jeep Commander?

I want one of those. 😉 Had I known those were coming out I might have waited and gotten than instead of a Pacifica. Probably not as safe, but I LOVE Jeeps. I had a Liberty before the Pacifica. It was just too small for two carseats, though. 🙁 So sad.

i like anything with a v-6 and cruise control. i have a grand prix right now.......not so good on the gas 😡

Get a diesel for fuel economy. I'm serious. They get very good amounts and the price of diesel is about the same, if not less, than regular gas now.

If you don't want that, then I would suggest a fun car like a Nissan 350Z. It's a V6, 2 passenger, with cruise control (on all trims, but the base model for the '03-'05 years). You can get a used one for a little less than 20 now I think. I get about 31 mpg on the highway. 🙂

The glass is half empty? 😛 The thought that it could flip out at any minute is on my mind all the time, make no mistake. I'd prefer to not have one that gets into the 150+lb range.

🙁 🙁 you weren't able to get another from the insurance?

Yes, but I already have 2 cars...so this one was really hubby's to choose. He looked at the CR-Vs, but (totally stupid, I know) we both were so freaked by our last memory of being in one being an intimate moment with airbags, that we didn't go for it. He chose an Accord.

Oh cool! I thought you were talking about the new big one they have.

I'll have to go check out the compass!

i would love to have a hybrid.....and it doesn't have to have a v-6.....but cruise control is a must b/c the ohio turnpike is very long and very flat. and very boring

Jeeps rock hard core.

There's a rumor they will be bringing the Jeep truck back out. Totally buying that when I get out of residency - I almost bought an old school J-71 to restore it in HS but decided I didn't want the responsibility.

Have you considered the Saturn VUE at all? They have excellent safety ratings and the new hybrid model gets gas mileage like a car. Pretty cool! I think the hybrid is around the same price as the CR-V too.
yup- the madre has a VUE. 😀 I think it's an '04. she really likes it. and actually, I'm getting rid of an '00 Saturn. It's the 3rd one I've had, and I'm ready for a change.

gas mileage is a big issue for me, which is why I've ruled it out- and the Jeep Liberty, which I've wanted since they came out. I live out in the 'burbs, which was a great choice when I bought the house- it was much closer to my job-at-the-time, and I wasn't in school. but now, I'm 20 miles from each of my offices, each of the two hospitals I work at, and 25 miles from school. So when I'm bouncing around b/t home ---> office ---> school ---> home, I put a LOT of miles on the car. My baby turned 6 about 2 weeks ago, and I just passed 133,000 miles this week. 😳

i've heard that they made it to compete with all the cheaper suvs that other car companies are coming out with.....like the dodge caliber
That makes sense - and it looks like the price of the Liberty has gone up quite a bit since I bought mine.

It just seems kind of strange still - I would consider the Liberty a small SUV. Why didn't they just make a cheaper Liberty model?

Oh yeah, my Liberty got AWFUL gas mileage. My Pacifica only gets 18-20 and I remember thinking that was really good compared to the Liberty. It's such a cute car, though! I almost cried when we traded it in.

btw, regarding the car stuff- I'm in the process of buying one right now. love Love LOVE the new Passats, but they're way out of my price range. whatever I get is going to need to last me through the next 2 years, then school and into residency. I looked at Jettas and Civics (online, never drove them) and found that comparing comparable cars, Jettas were a bit more pricey. then I realized that if I'm going to be moving (possibly a few times) while I have this, I'd prefer something in the small SUV range. I've narrowed it down to a RAV-4 or CR-V b/c of safety and best gas mileage in their class, and am going to test-drive the CR-V tomorrow morning. A friend of mine hooked me up with his Honda guy, and they're going to give me a sweet deal if I like what I'm seeing. I don't think Toyota can beat it, so I believe I'll be a pround Honda owner as of next week.
What about Toyota Highlander? I really want one of those.

a friend of mine traded in her Liberty for a brand spankin' new Grand Cherokee a few months ago, and said she's getting better mileage in the Cherokee. go fig?

it would be if I ever remembered to do my billing. 😳

Every single thing I dictate I have to put fee codes on, and of course extra fee codes for any special stains. 🙄

For example, if you are a lucky soul who has a colectomy, that is fee code 09. If you coincidentally happen to have your little itty bitty appendix taken out at the same time, extra $ for the pathologist as that adds a fee code 07. Oh, and if you have >2 cm of your terminal ileum removed at the same time, another fee code!!! (This is the kind of stuff I HATE spending my days doing).
