SKYLINE!

(actually, I'll have hit this with the fam at some point, so you may be off the hook)

have you had LaRosa's yet?

No Skyline. I want to meet you so badly, that I will sit there and watch you eat it, but will never ever touch that stuff again. :barf:

I haven't had LaRosa's. What is it?

rarely = walking out of the salon before I hit the humidity

seriously, though- I spend a pretty penny on my hair, and it's never ever in my life looked better. my guy owns the salon and really, truly knows what he's doing. I'd suggest spending some cashola at least once to get a great cut, and then perhaps someone else can replicate it.

Yeah, I'm going to be shelling out some bucks. Let's hope it will be worth it. 🙂

I've seen a lot of people who "tried" to OD on benzos. The most memorable of which decided to do it in the parking lot of her doctor's office. But it wasn't a cry for help or anything. Really.

I would cry, I bet.

It's funny... my mom was militantly against long hair when my sisters and I were young... pixie cuts or worse all the way.

All of us have long hair now, and have had for most of our adult lives. 🙂
Hmmm, I wonder if I'm doing the same to my kids .... I'm going to keep their hair in chin length bobs until they state a preference otherwise. 😉 I just think little girls look soooooo cute with that hairstyle.

what I love is that the first time I went in, he did an eval of my face shape, body, etc, and made a decision as to what would work for me. none of this "so what do you want to do?" "I don't knooooow!" stuff. it was more like "here's what's going to look awesome- can I go for it?"

I think they do, too. And I know it's a pain to be the mom of kids with long hair. (Ow!!! Owwwwwww!!)

But at least you'll listen to them. We begged and pleaded and it wasn't until high school that Mom started to give in. 🙂

 Cancel that whole psych residency thing.

I've had that done a few times. Twice it worked great, and once it was a total effing disaster. 🙂

My favorite bad salon experience (probably because it wasn't permanent) was when I went to get an up-do for a fancy hospital charity ball. I said, "Think Grace Kelly." (I had a powder blue strapless ball gown.) I exited looking more like Pink.

Thanks, Salon Girl! 🙂

ok, you're 17 away. is this happening tonight, or are we going to pick this up in the morning?

We can hold off. I think I'm the only one in here on vacation so I'd hate to be responsible for you ladies losing any sleep on my behalf.

That's what I need someone to do. The last person I went to was much better about telling me what would look good than other people I've gone to.

I didn't give her complete free reign with my hair, though - she was covered in tattoos and had a mohawk. I was a little scared. 😉

No, I'll be good at let them do what they want cut wise once they care one way or another.

I hope that's a long time from now, though. 😉

Well at least I know what they look like (in both cute and tantrum mode) so I can run far away up the aisle. 😛
My older daughter is wonderful. Two of her worst tantrums were on planes.

I was soooo THAT mom - the one everyone talks about. 😉 With the horrible misbehaved children.

he's flaming gay, narcissitic as hell, and probably bipolar. and yet somehow I trust him near my head with sharp scissors. go fig.

(actually, the narcissism prevents him from giving a bad cut or color- can you imagine if I walked out and told everyone I knew who it was that screwed up my hair? :meanie: )

Or at least get really familiar with the "drop the arm on the face test." Is there an official name for that?

ROFL. I'm sure there is but you described it well.

I would really like to take care of folks who actually overdosed or were really struggling with drugs but not this "cry for help" stuff. If you need help, ask for it. You don't need to do some stupid hysterical gesture.

I will never forget the first time I saw it. Had this chick who I just knew wasn't that out of it, but man, she was good. PMD ordered a neuro consult. Neurologist walked in, picked up her wrist, dropped the arm, it flopped to the side, and he walked right back out of the room again.

Of course, it turned out that she had quite the history and that he was familiar with the case, but it was something for a green new grad to see.

My roomie overdosed on adderall to get out of a final. How pathetic is that? The ER sob story made a brief appearance in the personal statement though. :meanie:
