Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the thread!

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Congratulations to everyone who made Part 4 such a kickass thread!!!

no you didnt, you're just being nice. 😉 i thought resurrecting Q's dead avatar would be funny but.... no.
It was very funny, A, but next time you need to coordinate with me so that I know not to change mine. 😉

I am having chest pains... not cardiac

It has been hurting for a few days and I FINALLY figured out why! Lugging hubby's TV up to the attic earlier this week! Damn! I was convinced last night that I was close to a heart attack. Ok, perhaps an overreaction??? The suffering I endure for love. :meanie:

yeah, musculoskeletal is a big cause of chest pain. one of the most useful things i learned in med school was that if you can locate the pain with the tip of your finger and literally say, "it hurts right here, in this exact spot" then its NOT cardiac chest pain.

Oh man...I think my cat has vertigo or something. That solution the vet put in his ear to get the ear mites out is probably still has a little bit in there. He can't walk in a straight line and has to sit down after a bit. When he shakes his head, he freaks himself out and falls to the ground. 🙁

everytime you post something i think it's Q posting. why the hell is step 2 so expensive? geeeez and i thought the mcat fee was bad

its 2 parts, clinical knowledge (CK, a computer test - the way step 1 is) and then clinical skills (CS, where we have to go to atlanta and actually see patients played by actors).

the first part, CK is the same cost as step 1 - about $450. the 2nd part of step 2, CS is over $1000. 😱 🙁

i bet your hubby wouldn't mind massaging that pain away. 😛

Poor thing. He'll (She'll) probably shake what's left out 🙁

Pics please 😀

I think I might go to Dave and Buster's tonight.....we'll see. We really wanted to go biking today, though.
I think I'm going to the flying saucer - the girl I'm staying with in Nashville told me there was one here and they have a fantastic beer selection. Hopefully they'll have Strongbow 😍

i just saw that step 2 next year is going to cost me $1,475. ****
That sucks. Seriously. Does that include travel for CS? Or is that just what you pay to take the actual test?

I have a question that you may or may not be able to answer, but I'd appreciate it if you would try. Any idea what a nonprotein respiratory quotient is? I am reading an article about starvation, and apparently this is something that is measurably different in lean versus obese people. But I do not understand exactly what is being measured or where the numbers in their nice little graph came from. I assume that it must be an algorithm that includes fat + carbs versus fat + carbs + protein, but there must be body weight and maybe some other things thrown in there for good measure too. Any thoughts?

Nice job! What do you mean "one thing at a time?" My cousin is doing MD/PhD at UT-Houston. The first 2 years he was there was regular MD school book work. Next 4 years was PhD work and he did his dissertation. Now he's taking a year off then back to regular med school (rotations for 2 years).

Maybe U of Texas at Houston is what you want? I remember you said you like Texas.
UT-Houston is amazing. You should totally consider it.

You want pics of him falling down? I have pics of him already on my computer, but when he was normal 😀. Right now he's under my bed probably scared of falling over again!

LOL, no I meant when he was normal. I'll let the poor guy try and recover from his pseudo drunkenness.

thats just what we pay for the actual test! 😱

doesnt include transportation or hotel.

never heard of a nonprotein respiratory quotient Q, sorry.

I feel like an addict that's just gotten their first fix in a long time. I love college football sooooo oooooo much. Too bad Vandy got their butts kicked :meanie: Can't wait til the first Auburn or A&M game is shown on TV. Did TCU win this weekend? they were playing right?

thank god for google cache! 😀
Thanks, I saved it in my pictures. 🙂

Apparently the nonprotein respiratory quotient is calculated from measurements of excreted nitrogen in the urine. Sounds like a yummy job to me. 😛 I can't find anything more specific about it though. I guess I will just have to wait until Tuesday.

I can't believe that the test fees are $1000. Wow, does that ever suck. 👎 BTW, did I tell you that I will start meeting with my clinical preceptor in a few weeks??? :wow:

I had to get the timing right for these two. The second is him just stretching on the door step, but it looks like he's crazy:

These ones are more recent. Not sure what's wrong with my camera. It seems to focus EVERYTHING, but the damn middle. I have yet to figure out how it works...
