Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the thread!

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Congratulations to everyone who made Part 4 such a kickass thread!!!

And thank you to the ever generous, intelligent, lovely, and kind Nichole, who let me start the thread even though she won the last one. 🙂

Yea although I don't think he is too skinny anymore, he's like average size. I don't really know all of his history, but I think he won back then. He has the most wsop bracelets or is at least tied (i think). He practically cries when he looses, always blaming luck for everything.

Luck is part of poker so there is no use crying about it. Some of the pros have this mentality that luck has nothing to do with it and its all skill. I would say it's more like 60% skill and 40% luck
Phil Helmuth is the best poker character ever. I say character because I am starting to believe his outrageousness is an act. That's what sells books and puts him on TV.

Yea it's probably an act. I think it's his natural personality, but he exaggerates it to get himself popular. He is very much a self promoter, sorta like Mike the Mouth. To do that in poker you pretty much have to be outrageous.

I am headed off to Chem. Oh gosh...this is gonna be shocking. I haven't had a chem class since my junior year in HS!...15 years ago! AGGGGH! wish me luck!

Good luck TypeA!!

I just got yelled at at work again, *sigh*. This time because I didn't ask for help and just did a whipple with no supervision. Whatever. (If I had asked for help, I would have gotten in trouble for that too). Didn't even really bother me. 🙂

hey guys! they havent told us anything yet about whether we have to be in the hospital tomorrow or wednesday. i think they are waiting for the hurricane warning to be issued so hopefully that comes at 5PM. it sucks when you see these things coming and people drag their feet when it comes to making cancellations. i'll let you know, as of now i'm in the middle of the cone.

ohhh so you might get 2 days off? well..that could be the one good thing about this hurricane

man, rounds this morning were rough with the new attending. when he went into one of the rooms with the intern and the fellow, the resident that stayed outside turned around to us and said, "welcome to hell." 😱 then later the chief said that the rounds were highly variable and that today was just a particularly painful day. whatever.

yeah....... i wouldnt mind getting 2 days off of this part of OB at all.

Firefox. These ones are working for me: 😴 😍 :barf: +pity+

But these ones aren't:  :meanie:  +pissed+
I can see all of them and I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

P.S. - Phil Hellmuth is hilarious. I have a soft spot for him because he got his start right here at University of Wisconsin in our Memorial Union. 🙂

I was going to get stuff done today and I was actually fairly productive from when my bf left this morning to take our guests to the airport to when he got home from his errands a few hours later. But then, since it's his last day of vacation before going back to work, we decided to have a totally decadent lunch of baguette, a variety of cheese, tuscan dipping sauce, and pinot noir.

We are both very happy and quite unproductive at the moment.

Hurrah, hedonism. 🙂

That's some fancy food talk you have going on. I think I only understand "cheese" and "baguette."

Funny story, I was back in France in July 2002 visiting my cousins. My aunt wanted me to go to the store and buy 3 baguettes. I speak no French, but she told me what to say. So I went there by myself trying to put on a French accent. I said "Twa baguette sevupley (sp?)" They said the price, which I had no idea what it was, and just handed them money. Did count the change and said "merci" and left. LOL! Hopefully I didn't look too American with my clothes and all.

 Great story!

I've never been to France and don't speak French but my bf's parents met there and lived there for 20+ years before coming to America. He was born two months after they got here and French was his first language before starting school.

prison break tonite

Is it possible for this show to go on? It seems like LOST and this show can't go on forever like say Friends or Seinfeld. I mean, once they bust out of prison, it's pretty much done right? You can't make 100 episodes of them running away from the police. Same with LOST. If they keep making up stuff, viewers will fall.

yea that was what i was thinking when the show first started. But they added on extra stuff to keep it going. Like the hunt for them, having so many characters with different stories and stuff that have escaped so you want to know how far each one will get and what they're going to do. Then there is the whole conspiracy thing with the president and her brother (which they can keep going forever). I dunno how they do it, but they've kept it really exciting.

but yea, I really dont know how many seasons this can go on for, because unless something really crazy happens its going to get kinda lame

"trois baguettes, s'il vous plait"

you did. almost all of us do. true story: last spring, we took a day trip while we were in England, and flew to Paris in the morning, back that evening. I minored in French, so although I'm rusty at it, I'm passable and was doing OK with speaking it and reading it. (understanding what others were saying was a different story) The three of us, dead tired, are on the train back to the airport and are the only three people on our car. We are saying NOTHING to each other, dead silence in the car. The conductor comes in, walks up to us, and without batting an eye, in ENGLISH says "Tickets, please."

Yes, honey. We look that American.

^LOL! That was hilarious! May I ask why you took a plane from England to France? We took the train under the channel to get to my cousin's wedding in London. Is must be cheaper, right? It was pretty cool, though, VERY fast and smooth. I didn't like the drink I ordered. I asked for an orange soda, but they gave me some weird orange soda that had actual orange insides (whatever that fiberous stuff is called). Not nearly as sweet as the stuff we drink, yack.

ah, good question.

and the answer is..... it was way cheaper to fly on British Airways. we happened to do this on a British Bank Holiday weekend (it was actually Memorial Day weekend for us), and we tried to book for the train about 3-4 mos in advance. all that was left were 1st class tickets, which were going to be about $300/pp round trip. BA had flights for somwhere around $75/pp RT, and we just stored our luggage at Heathrow for the day (for something like 20 or 30 bucks, I don't remember).

we actually would have preferred the train, but that was a lot of cider money right there, and a girl's gotta have her priorities. 😀
