Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Like Durden said, sharing is the illegal part. I.e. you are allowed to video tape say an F1 race on your tv, but you can't make copies and give to your friends. It's the same thing on a torrent. Someone recorded the live airing and is now sharing it, also with all commercials cut out.

You can't shut down a torrenting site. They're not hosting the file, just the torrent (the command to download it when you're connected to a group of people). They'd have to go after the people downloading it, but you don't setup a user account or anything like Napster did. So you don't know who's actually downloading.

I actually read on Wiki (Thanks Megboo!) that they have a record of your IP so you aren't completely anonymous.

But let me put it like this: unless you're seeding (not downloading, just sharing) tons and tons of gigs, then you'll bring a flag on yourself. There's no way anyone will be able to track what your ip is (no way as in there are too many to even care). Right now I'm keeping my usual ip and am getting 60kb/s for this 1.5 gig file 😀

some do get shut down tho (or maybe the shut down voluntairly to avoid the heat) like suprnova. I was using that for the longest time cause it was awesome before they closed it.

I guess using bit torrent then is illegal (right?) because you have to share while u download.

Tomorrow is my last day at the VA. Meaning, today is the last day I would cut in any big specimens we get (since they fix overnight, and cut in tomorrow. Anything we get tomorrow, I just cut open and dump in formalin. Next intern cuts it in).

Today, I have gotten: TWO COLON PERFORATIONS, yes, 2. A COLON CANCER. And, a SMALL BOWEL SOMETHING OR OTHER THAT NOBODY KNOWS WHAT IT IS.

Why Why Why Why??!! 😡

I got a perf yesterday and thought that was bad. Just finished cutting that in. That is all I have done. And cut open and washed out the poo from my TWO COLON PERFORATIONS AND A COLON CANCER AND A SMALL BOWEL SOMETHING OR OTHER. Now I am going to cut in the 15 cm basal cell carcinoma invading the skull. Not even thinking about my pile of smalls.

I'm not sure exactly how/why suprnova was shut down. Maybe their servers were in the US? I know that the US gov't can't shut down servers that are overseas. This is what makes it difficult to call illegal because not all of it happens within US borders. I'm not sure on Canadian law either for this.

Sharing copyrighted files is illegal here in the US so yes is what I'd say to your question. I know Top Gear in the UK was trying to shut down a bunch of people from sharing their tv shows so now they just host them online on their own website. I haven't used it, but I'd assume they have ads/banners around that area. If you can't beat them, join them.

So the Kaplan people just emailed me back my practice GRE score. I sucked it up big time!! What's the deal? The MCAT is a billion times harder and I do great. I take this easy exam and I blow it. 😡

Actually when I look at what I did well on and what I screwed up, it makes more sense. I did very well in Sentence Completions and Reading Comprehension, but my analogies and antonyms (ie. stuff that needs specific vocab knowledge) needed more work.
For Math, I did very well in Data Interpretations (so applying stuff) but anything where I needed to know a formula I screwed up.

This happened to another friend of mine when she was applying to teach SAT at Kaplan. She totally failed it and did better on it when she was in highschool. she had to take one of their practice ones.

You know that 15 cm basal cell carcinoma that invaded that guy's skull (because he "always wears a hat"? 😕 ) My attending wants me to submit the ENTIRE THING. Yeah, we're talking a cool 150 cassettes. Will fill up an entire processor.

It is a good thing I only have one more day of this!

How is everybody else? What should I do tonight?

More importantly, what should I do tomorrow night to celebrate being done at the VA??!! 😀 Partly pack to get ready to come home.

My alma mater is SIU-C x 2 degrees, and my mom went to SIU med school, so I'm hoping they show me lots of love. I love the school, so I'm excited about that one.

I also liked Pritzker when i went to talk to an admissions director. If I can get a 27-28 MCAT I have a decent shot at SIU. For Pritzker, I need a 33+ (yeah, yeah, aim for 45 right?)

speaking of wine, I would like some. My professor's family owns one about 2 hrs from here. Mostly fruit wines. I'm not a fan but still some of them sound good. Blackberry/elderberry wine ... I'd love to go tasting there.

And I just found out that for oktoberfest I won't have anyone to go with me. The hubby is def doing an away rotation in PA that month. *sobs*

4 months without my hubby ... *sigh*

I had some eel again yesterday. Have you tried any yet?

Btw, the storm is nearing us. Already have rain, but it's nothing like a real thumderstorm at all...what a joke. My brother's school was cancelled yesterday and today.
