Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the thread!

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Congratulations to everyone who made Part 4 such a kickass thread!!!

And thank you to the ever generous, intelligent, lovely, and kind Nichole, who let me start the thread even though she won the last one. 🙂

oh yeah--and people would get like that when i worked at target--just snobby uptight most annoying people. get mad if they have to wait in line for 2 minutes

I felt so bad for the cashier. She was doing the best she could. I used to work in retail too, so I know how sucky it can be sometimes

Cartman: Hippies. They're everywhere. They wanna save the earth, but all they do is smoke pot and smell bad.

Cartman: M'am, I'm here to check your house for parasites ... apparently, you have hippies....... Yup, there's your problem. You've got hippies. We call these the giggling stoners."

Cartman: "Ma'am, I need to clear out your giggling stoners and your drum-circle hippies right now, or soon they're going to attract something much worse"
Old Lady: "What's that?"
Cartman: "The college know-it-all hippies"

"Oh yeah, take a look at this ma'am. See that? Hippies... These are what we call the giggling stoners, pretty common form of hippies, usually found in attics. Problem is, if you see one hippy, theres probably a whole lot more you don't see. Where's the back yard?"
"Yeah, that's what I thought. You see that? You got a drum-circle in your backyard."

Best... episode... ever!!!
SO. ABSOLUTELY. TRUE!!

I actually lived in an Austin co-op for almost two years. The part about the drum circle??? :scared: :scared:

so I wrote UNC an email tonight...and they wrote me back (at 9:35 tonight). how weird is that? who stays in their office until 9:35 on a friday?!

target is SO much better than wally world.
I agree. Unfortunately, we have a Walmart 2 minutes down the road. The closest Target takes 20-30 minutes depending on traffic and it's not a big Target where you can buy groceries and stuff like our Walmart. 🙁

So, Walmart gets our business. I HATE that place, though. I feel like my IQ drops about 50 points just from entering the parking lot. I go back to normal as soon as I leave.

And it's always dark and depressing in Wally World....

I'll consider coming to TX when someone invents a device that will create a portable air-conditioned zone around my body wherever I go. 😎
Heck. It was down in the 70's this morning when my running group set off. What more could you possibly ask for?? 😕*

*Of course, that was at six in the morning, but still!

 I know it's not always 110. 🙂 I would just have to plan my visit for a seasonable time of year.

I seriously can't take hot weather, though. I would rather it be 5 degrees than 95 degrees.

To you Northerners, "seasonable" = 30deg F. 🙄 And seriously: what's wrong with heat?? 😕 Alex, back me up!!

You're welcome to come visit in the Fall, though. 🙂

it's still summer--kind of. ok not really

The leaves are changing, the nights are chilly and the undergrads are back. All sure signs of summer ending. I would seriously consider moving to Tx, except it's too darned expensive. But I am built for the heat, not for the cold 😎

TX is expensive??? No state income tax and low housing costs makes it one of the most affordable places imo. I don't think anyone would like it. My friend lived in Texas for a few years when he worked for Dell. He said its worse than FL or weather. ALWAYS humid, terrible. The humidity kills you, not the heat.

Actually, I was thinking tuition...Sadly, I would probably have to pay major $'s for tuition because I'm a foreigner.

More humid than Florida? Really??

How hot does it get in Chicago? It has such a huge temperature range. So cold during winter, but so hot over summer, it's crazy. Last I visited was in October. Perfect weather. 😎

Do foreigners pay more for that if I went to TX from FL (out of state)?

Yes, my friend (from FL) said TX is much worse humidity wise. I was dabbling with the idea of moving to Houston or something.

Heat is an excellent thing. Great for the body. 🙂

It can get pretty warm (90's), but it doesn't last for days and days and days.

Best placed I ever lived climate-wise was the central coast of California. Absolutely perfect.

The hot weather really aggravates my rosacea. The cold does, too, but at least with that I can wind a scarf around my head and be OK.

Just got back from eating Mexican food (my favorite) and I've got half a burrito waiting for me when I get hungry.

So what you up to tonight fellow randomites?
-Dr. P.
