Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's the thread!

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Congratulations to everyone who made Part 4 such a kickass thread!!!

And thank you to the ever generous, intelligent, lovely, and kind Nichole, who let me start the thread even though she won the last one. 🙂

Ok, one more funny story for y'all, and then I'm outta here.

This morning, I woke up at 3:30 AM to the sound of some girl in a neighboring apartment who was apparently in the throes of climax. It went on for several minutes, and of course if I could hear her, so did the rest of the neighbors. I went back to sleep and forgot about it until just now, when I once again am hearing her ecstatic cries. If I can figure out where the heck she is, I'm going to go by later and tell her that while we're all happy for her that she's getting laid so regularly, she might not want to necessarily be sharing that news with everyone in the entire neighborhood. And in particular, I don't want to hear about it at 3:30 in the morning. 😉

for s&m

DC Talk. And let's not forget Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. 😎

Edit: Oh, and Creed.

I was trying to remember as I thought they were but not sure. I was thinking of Lifehouse and Switchfoot actually.

A few others:

Collective Soul, Sixpence None the Richer, MxPx, Reliant K, Mercy Me, POD, Thrice ...

Also I found this on wikipedia "Some bands such as U2, Lifehouse, Creed, King's X, Thrice, Evanescence, Mute Math, Coldplay, Blessid Union of Souls, and Switchfoot do not claim to be "Christian bands", but include members who openly profess to be Christians and feature Christian thought, imagery, scripture or other influences in their music." They are considered Christian music (to some extent)

I loved Amy Grant growing up. Her album was one of the first I had on tape, actually I think it was the first. Also Celine Dion. I didn't like when Amy Grant went back to strictly Christian Music 🙁

As for music, I vary in range. Avril is an interesting choice. I haven't listened to her new stuff but I did like her. I always like the "woman" singers. Like her, Michelle Branch (who writes most of her songs).

I try to stay on top of "indie rock" but sometimes its so hard. Some favorites right now though:

I'm obsessed with Trapt. Love their stuff and have for the past 2 years. Lost Prophets, Fuel, Breaking Benjamin, Theory of a Deadman, etc.

I'm kinda an emo/indie girl with The Early November (local jersey band I found out about but never to go see) Dashboard Confessional, Brand New, Thrice, Death Cab, Postal Service (although they got old quick) Frou Frou, Ivy, bullet for my valentine, The Fray, 30 seconds to Mars, Pat McGee Band, Nickleback, G-Love, Dave Matthews, Sarah McLachlan (all-time fav), Shinedown, Three Days Grace, My Chemical Romance (not mainstream stuff), blah I could go on forever.

Evanescence is high on my list. I love listening to their whole albums. Audioslave I was disappointed in.

I go through cycles though, sometimes I'm more country (not often as the stuff gets old for me) and sometimes I like some hip-hop flava.

But mostly its rock/indie for this chick. I wish I was able to check out some of the lesser known bands more often. Some of them just plain old suck though, like this band that opened for Trapt. They were HORRIBLE live. But then I've seen the Get Up Kids (before they broke up) and they were amazing - they opened for Story of the Year.

Carl Edwards was mathematically eliminated from the NASCAR Chase tonight.

DC Talk. And let's not forget Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. 😎

Edit: Oh, and Creed.

Creed was never actually a Christian group. I saw this special on them a couple of years ago and Scott Stapp was talking about how people often assume that, but that it isn't true.

OH. MY. GOD. You are such a child!!! When I was in college, DC Talk was very popular. I'm not even a Christian and I listened to them. I think their most famous song was "Jesus Freak." Amy Grant started out as a Christian singer and crossed over big time when I was (cringe) in high school. She had this song "That's What Love is For" and another one "I Will Remember You." But my all time favorite Christian Singer is definitely Michael W. Smith. He has a fantastic voice, and his songs are great. Most famous song is probably "Place in This World." But my favorite is "Old Enough to Know." Not sure why, I've just always liked that song.
I used to like "Friends are friends forever" or whatever it was called....I think that was actually a collaboration of Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith.

i know how that goes, for sure.

so what are you up to on this fine labor day? studying? relaxing?

studying defnitely--i have an exam tomorrow. right now going over slides and labs. library opens at 1 and i am probably gonna go there then and review lectures. wooo best labor day ever! so what are you up to today? are you at work right now?

Hun, YOU are being incredibly annoying, but you don't see me blaming the entire male gender for it, do you??? 😉

 👍

How is school going Q? Are you getting a chance to catch up on the long weekend? I always loved long weekends in med school because at least the onslaught of material stopped for a day.l 😳

Oh, and we were talking about dingalings the other night on the thread (I want to be a genitourinary pathologist), but I initially read your new user profile as SDN Super Dingaling.

I am at work...getting lots of stuff done b/c no one is here.

Haha, I moved every 1-2 years my whole life until college. So I got that song on innumerable good-bye mix tapes.

oh crap! i guess i should mention that the coffee wasn't very hot since the coffee maker had been turned off for a while---no you guys i didn't burn myself!!!
i burned myself with tea 2 years ago...the tea was in my thermos (boiling hot), and i didn't realize it wasn't closed, and it spilled all over my hand. i lost all the skin on my right hand.

beary, what's a genitourinary pathologist?

A specialist in prostates, bladders, and kidneys. With the occasional ureter or dingaling thrown in. 😉

I think I would really like to do just renal (and be a super-expert on kidneys, this is a bazillion years from now of course) but prostate and bladder pathology is so common that being a GU specialist is much more marketable.

ahh, i see. sounds like fun! i 😍 kidneys!

beary yay!! i'm glad you are staying in path

Aww, thanks a lot. You are so sweet. 😍 It is pretty much the unanimous opinion of everyone in my life that I should stay in path, so I think that means a lot.

Not the biggest fan of U Mich pathology right now though, I must say. When I actually sit back and look at what is happening, the overwhelming majority of my problems are with the environment, not with pathology itself. Except for colons. 😳

Hey, that's another reason to do GU path! Would I ever have to see another colon? Heck no!!

😱 OMG scent. That sounds terrible. Did you have to get a skin graft? 🙁

how are the senior residents like yaah? are they more relaxed? hopefully you're just going through regular internship hell beary and all will become right with the world soon. 🙂
