A few ground rules. Everything you post must be RANDOM and more importantly, only peripherally related to the MCAT. See my example post below. I now await Beary's shirtless pic of Carl Edwards. C'mon Beary, A-man is dying to see it. 😀

This is Ana's example:

My, factually, better examples 😀 :

beary, med school is HARD. It's a lot of work. Whine, moan, b****.

yeah, seriously. i think i had set myself up so much with the whole premed process of volunteering, mcat, interviews, blah blah blah that when i got my acceptances i just thought becoming a doc would be automatic from that point. sadly its 4 more long crappy years of SCHOOL where we're treated like kids out of highschool. yay!

[/rant]

i ve heard horror stories about anatomy from my friends who are MS1 at a school here they always sound so stressed

T, is this your first MSTP interview? You'll do great. It is exhausting though. :luck:

The biggest questions you can prepare for:
1) Tell me about your research.
2) Why do you want to do MSTP instead of MD only or PhD only.

Good questions to ask when they're asking you for questions:
1) How do you integrate medical and graduate school? (whatever they say to this is BS by the way but you can nod your head and pretend to be interested)
2) any type of advisor/oversight to help you through the whole thing?
3) how do you choose a graduate school lab? rotations? when?

My unsolicited advice of the day.

2nd

Thanks for the info. 🙂

Tired, irritable, cranky, and not in the mood to do my work. Other than that, I'm great. 😛 How are you doing? How's your heart? My mom asked about you again. 🙂

Aww, how sweet! I bet you are tired, irritable, and cranky. Obviously I don't know how it is at your school but my personal experience was the first semester of M1 year was the worst. After that I was used to it. M3 is different again.

Heart's ok. These ^%#*&*# bugs. BUT I am getting more energy and the pain is much much less.

Sweetie, you ARE a kid. In another context, I could be the colleague of the people teaching me. Some are seriously my age.

A-man thats what i was told from a good friend of mine who just graduated.. at least thats what its like where i'm from or so the students say

no, it is better. 😉

better in that you actually get to work with patients every day the way you always thought med school would be like. what makes 3rd year so rough is that after coming home from whats basically a full time job in terms of hours you have to start studying because you're still a student taking exams, written and oral. 4th year is where it all gets better because since its mostly electives the rotations are more chill and the exams are more straight forward (thats if they even have them, some 4th year rotations here just determine your grade based on resident/attending evals and maybe a case report or something).

Med school is going to totally kick my ass; I'm so sure I'm just too much of an idiot to graduate. But I'll be following a family tradition: My dad failed out of med school then went back. 😉
No, you're definitely not too much of an idiot to graduate. Medicine isn't rocket science. It's the sheer volume that makes it hard, not the intellectual challenge of it. But the good thing is, they've invested so much in you that they don't want to let you fail out. And the vast majority of people don't. If you're struggling academically, they'll remediate you. Or you'll remediate yourself, as in my case. 😛

TROLL ALERT!

stop calling me baby, you'll make nik jealous
Don't call me baby. You've got some nerve and baby that will never do. You know I don't belong to you. It's time you knew I'm not your baby. I belong to me. Don't call me baby. 🙂

Tamiflu?

company is NVAX ... this was 6 months ago. I think I just threw my money away. Although it's been going back up lately (after losing almost half of it's value within 2 months that I bought it 😡 )
