ok, i'll be dammed if i dont finish this project by the time i go to sleep. its a brochure on allergic rhinitis...... worth 20% of our grade so i cant just blow it off too much. thats crazy when you think that our preceptor eval which we spent 5 solid weeks working full time for is only worth 40%.

now that i think about it, i think they max out the preceptor eval at only 40% to protect students who might not have clicked with their preceptors and who get like 72 or something. thats probably why they make the brochure 20% and class participation 10%, etc...

Yeah, clinical evals are so tough that way. I think so much of it depends on who is evaluating you, not on your own performance.

yeah beary i already felt that first hand. in ob/gyn, my oral examiner scored me at a 90 for my oral? 😕

she drilled me for 30 minutes with questions from my cases and i SWEAR i only didnt know ONE THING she asked me. that was it, i hit every other question out of the park. why that was scored a 90 and not a little higher i have no idea but whatever. what pisses you off is when you hear stories of people who had oral examiners who basically asked them "how'd you like the rotation?" and talked BS with them for 5 minutes before scoring them at 95. 😡

that oral exam was worth 1/3 of the entire OB/Gyn grade!
