The AP and USA Today Polls has Michigan still at 6th, Florida at 5th. Harris poll has Michigan at 4th, Florida and West Virginia tied at 5th. Florida has 1 vote for number 1 team in country, Auburn has 1, USC has 2, OSU has 110, lol. Michigan and WVU have none. 🙂

Hi folks! Thanks for the good wishes.

Unfortunately the blood culture saga continues, but is mostly good news. They did flag. The machine is very sensitive though (so we don't miss any positive ones). The way it works is a pH change, which causes a color change in the media, which causes it to flag. At that point, a person Gram stains it to look for bacteria. There were no visible bacteria in mine (I saw it myself 😉 ).

So the flag was almost certainly a false positive but they are letting it go for another 3 days, just in case there is a really low level of bacteria in there. (Which is good news in any case - even if there is a real infection, it's almost certainly at a very low concentration).

When I heard they flagged I seriously just about died. I am worn out from the intense emotion. 😳 But overall this is good news and I think that in a few more days I'll finally get REALLY good news. 😀 My poor mom, haha. I explained it like 50,000 times that the machine is sensitive and not terribly specific but all I think she heard is that they flagged.

Having another ultrasound of the pocket to check on the wires again.
