thanks, i'm going to try to learn about all this stuff this year so that maybe when I become a doctor i might know the best way of getting myself out of debt

I need to find out about this whole med school loan thing. Maybe A-man can chime in about the rates, when you have to pay back, fixed vs. variable rates, etc.

I'm trying to keep it all under $120k excluding interest. I was reading in the sub-forum about financials and some there suggest not paying back til done with residency and fellowship. Some students live like paupers in residency to reduce debt when instead they can defer til they get out of residency and pay it back faster.

I would like to add that I'm against putting all my money into one source. I like to keep it spread out based on liquidity. Some in checking account, some on hand cash, some in CDs/bonds, and some in retirement accounts.
