A few ground rules. Everything you post must be RANDOM and more importantly, only peripherally related to the MCAT. See my example post below. I now await Beary's shirtless pic of Carl Edwards. C'mon Beary, A-man is dying to see it. 😀

This is Ana's example:

My, factually, better examples 😀 :

But back to Catholicism...If the church kept changing things based on popular trends, then the religion wouldn't be Catholicism any longer, it would be something else entirely. I wasn't around in the days of Christ, but the Catholic church (and the Orthodox churches as well) stemmed from those days. Catholic traditions have been in place since the earliest of days. It's the other denominations that have strayed (for whatever reason - not saying good or bad) from the line of Catholicism.

I don't think someone is going to hell because they don't follow the same traditions as me, i.e. they are Lutheran or Episcopalian or some other denomination.

I see what you are saying, but you have to realize that only recently has the Vatican changed it's policy. Did you know that up until the 1960's you WERE going to Hell if you weren't Catholic, and you weren't a true Catholic if you didn't think that. If course, realizing how ridiculous that seems, the Vatican officially changed its views and now includes other religions in heaven (although they have ways of saying that nothing has ever changed).......so while many of those religions may have strayed, Catholicism has also strayed from itself over the years......they just tend to be the last to do it.

Heh, it was actually Alonso with a helmet camera testing his F1 car at Barcelona. No YouTube of it. Your computer sucks man.

it's a U of M Health System laptop with all this random security crap installed... I don't know how to get it off either since there seems to be 3 other administrator accounts on this thing although I've been the only one using it...

I have to go through these stupid access points just to see the public med.umich.edu website 🙄 Blah...

that's why I still go to a mass in Latin 👍

lots of things happened while i was away.

two feet in buffalo

lidle crashes into an apt

mcat scores are released

i need to get out of the country more often

That's hardcore. I would fall asleep in a Latin movie, let alone mass 😳

it was a joke... although I guess there is one hardcore sect of Catholicism that does it (Mel Gibson is a member)

well... I managed to offend absolutely everyone yesterday in the thread.

I drunk-dialed Beary last night too... repeatedly. I think she's scared of me now... I should lay off the booze 🙁

i went to the bar 3 nights in a row this past weekend.....i think i'm getting my tolerance back  ....it's soooo nice to hang out with old friends.

Yeah, the sect Mel Gibson is involved with is not really Roman Catholic.

Since it's the random forum, I wanted my say as well. I had to study last night so I put it off until today.

now I have to go to work 👎

You guys are close, though. 39,000 student. Not bad for a "private" school. 😉

I spent more time with graduate student instructors than professors in college... since discussions were mandatory and lectures were not usually 🙄

Whoa - I actually thought we were much higher than that.

You probably are. Those numbers are only for single campuses (I think)

PSU actually has 81,000+ students, but only half of those go to University Park......the rest go to school at commonwealth campuses (but they still get the same degree as U.Park kids 😡 )

I've also attended "born again" churches......and I don't get sleepy as much.....unless I'm really tired......it's more lively

If you want to play by your rules, Indira Gandhi National Open University beat you with 1.4 MILLION.

That's what all the stand up, sit down, kneel, stand up, kneel, sit down, etc is there to prevent.

i'm on auto-pilot most of the time anyways... so it doesn't prevent nap time for the seasoned Catholic
