did they show 2 eps tonight or something? i have no idea, i just came off of a 3.5 hour nap. man, i got 3 hours of sleep last night so that was good. now i have to read on like the 5 topics we were assigned this morning for tomorrows rounds.... shoot. tomorrow is friday though! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

I am glad you got some sleep! I'm probably going to take off early tomorrow. Today wiped me out.

Hopefully I don't get paged every 5 seconds tomorrow like I did today. Seriously, I either don't get paged at all the whole day or I get paged a million times.

i saw that article about the fire in southern california.

i'm dating a guy who was on a fire in northern california about a month ago. it's always scary to see things get out of hand like that.

and belatedly--that was a really moving post about psych, Arsenic...I might have to check out that blog entry too.

Bummer about GA being reruns. I was going to check it out tomorrow sometime.

It actually is really common for people to have trouble choosing between path and psych which is really strange on the surface of it - they seem so different. But ask almost any path resident what their #2 choice was and they will say psych.

I ended up mostly staying with path largely because of inertia and because I was already so "set" on being a pathologist. Also, right after psych I did neuro. Psych residents have to do a few months of neuro. Dealbreaker. :laugh:

hey beary--

pretty good. I'm holding down 3 jobs now, which can get a little stressful. I've got a paper due tomorrow as well...that I'm trying to get hammered out. But I just couldn't miss SDN tonight! 😍

Yeah, my intentions have been put by the wayside for now. My goal is to review the material over Xmas break and start doing FL's and practice problems in January - end of April.

My immune system has totally been decimated over the last few weeks (see blog) and I'm just trying all I can to keep up with Physics right now.

I think it was the way people perceive and think about the world that made me major in psych. I mean, according to our "normal" schema of the world what you were saying made logical sense; but according to her definition of "logic" there was another explanation. How we organize things and we fit them into a logical pattern to make the almost overwhelming amount of sensory imput into something meaningful, that's some cool ****. It's just so sad to see that go wrong and then not really know how to get it back on track. 🙁

thanks ana, too sweet. it was very cool, this woman had a full time job and would function by just ignoring the voices. the attending is amazed at that. the voices would say stuff like "good morning! have we got a new story for you today....", i got like 4-5 quotes from her of what the voices would tell her, i was just so taken back by those quotes. its like for a second i had a glimpse into her schizophrenia you know? wow. she described hearing them as clear as the voice of someone talking to her and also feeling wires on her skin.

It was always the cognitive stuff I liked more but now I'm wishing I had taken some abnormal as well.

LOL at A-man!!!

Seriously that should be considered a sign from god in disguise

On another note I just got back from seeing the movie "The Grudge" and damn it was scary and creepy!!!

If you've seen THE RING then it was like that in a lot of ways!!!

Scary movies creep me out because more often then not the characters who the story revolves around (victimizer) was a victim of abuse as was the case in both storylines from both Japanese movies mentioned above (Grudge and The Ring).

Ohh and there's no resolution at the end which makes it even creepier.

I can't handle scary movies (haven't seen either the Grudge or The Ring).

Some of my girlfriends got together to watch the Ring back in IC. They invited me, but I declined because I'm such a wimp. Anyway, I waited about an hour until they were watching the movie, then blocked my caller ID and called them and hung up when they answered. :laugh: :laugh: :meanie:

ooooooooooooooh man. during "the ring"? the characters getting a phone call was a major part of that movie plotline right? :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

My best friend, her boyfriend and I went to go see the Ring after a really late football game. It was so creepy getting out at about 2:30 am. We were totally freaked out and as we drove on campus we saw this hooded figure running across the street. Well the girls promptly screamed...

then we figured out that it was this guy that we all knew out running at 3 am like a *****. Who would date a freak like that?

Oh wait, Penny did. :meanie:

hahahaha that's soooooooo mean of you!!! Yeah I HATE scary movies. I went due to the fact that friends were going and I wanted to hang out with them. I really can't stand scary movies because I like to keep my eyes open the whole time I'm watching a movie not feel like I have to close them because someone is about to be murdered or attacked. Nor do I like knowing that the victimizers are usually the greatest victim of all in that they are abused as children. At least that was true with both japanese movies listed above and it totally creeps me out even though it is fiction.

Yeah, like I said I haven't seen it, but getting a phone call means you're gonna die or something. Apparently the phone ringing is the scariest part of the movie. I'm so mean. :laugh:

yeah for sure. interestingly, "dark water" was another scary japanese movie with water as a major theme. ha, in fact, it was what i started the very first random thread with! "has anyone seen dark water yet with jennifer connelly?" ha, like 69,400 posts ago. 😱

only took me that long to get back to the original topic. how funny! its like seinfeld, threads about nothing. lol

I have this strange trait too. 😳

I am feeling really tired now and trying to decide if I should go to bed now (which will mean I will wake up around 2-3) or try and stay up a few more hours, and get up at 5:30-6.

I am leaning towards going to bed now just because I'm so sleepy. 😴
