how's your studying going guys? are you freaking out? burned out?

this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

MollyMalone said:
It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Have a nice night guys

Just remember that you are highly desirable. 😉

lol, that's a Michigan pic.

VD,

I'm sorry you were waitlisted, but that's not the end. AND...don't forget you have 2 OTHER acceptances! 😍

Twin - I have bad news. Brace yourself: I got waitlisted at Vandy. 🙁 🙁 🙁

Oh well - wasn't holding out much hope, in all honesty. Now Pemb and I can have a fun waitlist party together. Seriously, it's where all the cool kids are 😉

Yup.

And having been accepted elsewhere, we can just think about how much less tuition is in Texas. 🙂

Ok, I just fired off an email to the MSTP director at Johns Hopkins asking for my status there...omg I'm so nervous.

Have you thought about getting a house/condo in and around Houston? The housing market there is seriously dirt cheap.
Unfortunately a bunch of med students have this idea so the condo market (at least things in my range) is slightly inflated. I wanted to live there a year/6 months before I thought about buying

(not to mention I have almost nonexistent credit so I don't know if I could get a morgage - doubt my parents would help)

I guess it depends on what kinda commute you can tolerate.

It's not the commute so much as the total lack of parking at the TMC (and I do mean total). So it would be a commute to a park and ride then a rail ride from there (~40 minutes my Baylor friends say). Ugh. I'm doing that now and it sucks!

Awww, you guys, I got a "care package" from the Iowa MSTP! 😍 They put all sorts of cute little things in there. Candy, cards, pictures, etc. So so sweet.

Though somebody put a Tony Stewart hat in there. :meanie: (Right idea, wrong team. 😉 )

Apartment I like in Houston:

Isn't it cute!? Smallest/cheapest one AND it has a balcony!

i like it but would visitors have to travel through your bedroom and closet to get to the bathroom? i mean walking through my closet could be very scary

Silly! I live in Texas! That's what the balcony is for!

(j/k - though you bring up a good point).

Looks like that's a design flaw in all the floor plans except the really expensive 1 bdrm. http://ae.uth.tmc.edu/housing/Floor%20plansElPaseo.html

That's so cute!

*laughs nervously about hat, looks around to make sure she isn't the only one who didn't get it*
