how's your studying going guys? are you freaking out? burned out?

this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

MollyMalone said:
It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO POST HERE, you're welcome to jump in at anytime. Here's the final tally from part 7:

speaking of that, didn't you stop off for a couple of drinks at that bar I showed you on Euclid before coming to my office? how was that? :meanie:

Unfortunately not, but me and your favorite coworker have a date during second look weekend. 😎

Do you remember all that New Kids stuff? I had everything. Jacket, backpack, pins, posters, dolls, etc. 😀
I can remember going to a slumber party with this girl and her room was literally WALLPAPERED with NKOTB crap! And I remember I was SOOO jealous. She even had NKOTB impersonators at his birthday party.

Hey, we got Motown!!! And Eminem! And the auto industry! And... um... 😳

That's right - STL would be the city I side with (Chicago sux). We got Chingy, Nelly, Jibbs, J-kwon, Murphy Lee, St. Lunatics, Ike turner and Phyllis Diller! Midwest, baby!

wait... megboo lists all of these obscure rappers seperately and you lump all of Motown together ? 😡 how about randoms like Kid Rock or Ted Nugent, White Stripes, Aretha Franklin, Madonna, and the list goes on and on and on and on...

St. Louis seems to only have produced a few ******ed rappers

Oh yea? Well we got the Backstreet Boys. Take that! 😡 Literally, I don't want them here!

when I think of St. Louis I think of a middle america trailer park wasteland. But I've never been there before, so I'm strictly basing this off of stereotypes

 Holy **** that was hilarious. Reminds me of the stereotype about people with a gap in their front teeth, which came from the Rescue Rangers.

so everyone voting on tuesday?

anyone voting a straight democratic or republican ticket ?

I will - I still need to do some research on some of the local races here though. 😳 I haven't learned too much about local politics in the time I have been here.

I likely will end up going straight Republican, but not necessarily. I don't just go down and check all the Republicans.

Mailed my ballot in on Friday; I hope it gets there in time. Tracking down a notary on campus was quite the pain in the arse.

vote yes on 2 !!! That's the only one I really care about 👍

Nah, I don't vote. Never cared for it and probably never will. When I was back at school on campus, I'd always tell the political campaign students that I voted so they got off my case. They used to piss me of a lot...

I think I'll vote DeVos for Governor, vote Libertarian at county and city level. The republican for congress in my district is a bit too conservative for me, and he beat out the incumbent moderate Reublican in the primary who is a physician, which kind of made me mad. So I think I'll vote democrat in that race. For Senate the Dem looks like she'll win easily...

But yes on 2. That's the big one

DeVos as in the billionaire family from Michigan?!?! Dude, Rich DeVos owns the Orlando Magic. 👍 The dude has a vitamin company that sells that stuff overseas to "developing" countries.

Too true; I heard at least ten political radio ads just in your lobby.

The past week I've been watching a bit of the network TV, and about 90% of the ads are political... sometimes with opponents ads being run back to back

And almost 80% of them are negative. The ones where someone just attacks their opponent without even mentioning what they will do really piss me off

And you were there for what? 20 minutes?

I.am.so.sick.of.them.

My state district rep seat is on the ballot. I know who I'm voting for. It's who I voted for in the interim election last year. I get 2 flyers a day from the opponent trashing my candidate. SAVE YOUR ****ING POSTAGE. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU.

Couldn't agree more. 👍

Tennessee has had some really ugly ads that have grabbed national and even international attention, mainly due to playing the "race card" in the South.

yeah, that's the guy... they own Amway... he's trying to pump a lot of money in to the biotech sector, especially on the western side of the state in Grand Rapids. (I think he was the mayor of GR) He also had a big hand in opening up the new med school in GR next year, which is good... time to move on with the times and replace the auto industry with some biotechnology 👍

Definitely one thing I disliked a lot, too. I saw a couple today and it didn't mention (other than small text) who the commercial was to favor after attacking someone. I just dislike the entire thing. The massive amounts of money I think are wasted, political signs just making the entire town look ugly, stupid commercials, etc. I'll be so glad when this is all over.

Edit: Oh hey, wadda ya know. There's a policital ad right now on the tv. Lame.

I've heard about the one where the Republican made it seem like the black Democrat goes after all the blonde pretty women at some Playboy party...

wild stuff

Ah, just wiki'd that guy. Apparently it's the Magic's owner's son that's the governor. The father was the co-founder of Amway. Damn, I did not know. I guess that makes you a Magic fan. 👍 You were already, though. Ben Wallace, Billups, Atkins (left already). Also Grant Hill, Darko, Carlos Arroyo...

the Magic seemed to be our minor league the past decade or so. we give you all of our players going downhill, and we pick up your players on the rise 😀

The Pistons owner also owns the Tampa Bay Lightning... is that the closest hockey team to you? or is it the Panthers?

I hope you don't mind me taking pride in that Pistons' championship. 😀

Tampa is about 90 miles from my place. Coral Gables (Panthers) is over 250.

UMP- you've said "yes on 2" a couple of times. What's 2 for you?

for us, it's the stem cell research issue that MJF is getting all the flak about.

"Proposal 2, to ban the use of race and gender preferences in public university admissions and in government hiring and contracting."

latest polls say the no's are winning by 10 :scared:
UMich, GM, and the Catholic Conference have been behind the campaign for no among many others. No is outspending yes big time, we'll see what happens though

i remember when both Tampa and the Pistons won three years ago he was travelling almost every day to watch both teams play in the playoffs  That must've been pretty damn sweet for him...

RANDOM FACT: Eminem was born in St. Joseph, Missouri... how far is that from STL ?

Lol, Chris Leak broke 10k passing yards against Vandy this weekend. He's 751 yards shy of Danny Wuerffel's record. There are 5 more games left (3 reg season, 1 SEC championship, 1 bowl game). He only has to avg a little more than a 150 yards a game. Probably won't win a championship, which Danny did. Pretty pathetic record if he does that. lol

Edit: Last time he had less than 155 yards was against the loss to Auburn (108 yards).
