how's your studying going guys? are you freaking out? burned out?

this is our stress relief thread....or our group anxiety thread, whatever..... 😀

for those of you that have no idea what the mcat random threads are about, check out molly's explanation:

MollyMalone said:
It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

OK, I am going to sleep. I'm sorry, do I need to explain what sleep is for those perpetually awake people like beary?

😍 hugs 😉

Agreed. 🙂 My brother has darker skin than I do. Little Olivia is so fair skinned! I am very amused at myself that I care if I am pale or not.
There was a time in history where a woman's paleness was a sign of her status (meaning she didn't have to do any outside work that would make her tan). 😉

Night PW! I hope that you have very restful sleep. 😍

I'm going in a bit. Just took some tylenol to help my fever.

I have to relate this funny story. There are all these flyers over the hospital about some dermatology talk called "Preventing the Appearance of Aging" and it has a picture of the speaker and he is the oldest looking guy ever. Every time I see these flyers I laugh hysterically. That would be like me giving a seminar "How Not to Be Fat."

canuck--will you do my stats? pretty please🙂

Hey - I'm hurt!!

BA in Statistics over here ....

LOL, I have my hands full picking up the slack from the less than talented stats profs in our dept. There are a few that are fabulous, and a few that are total stinkers. Sooo, Oxeye feel free to do Nikki's homework at anytime 🙂

There was also a time in history where a woman's "rotundness" was associated with her wealth. The wealthy women had more meat on their bones because they could afford to eat well.

Sometimes I wish I were in that time period! LOL

I know! There was also a time when the chubby woman were highly desirable since that meant they could afford so much food. 😳

Well, folks, I am going to head to bed. I have to get up in 5.5 hours. 😱

And who knows how many autopsies, placentas, and legs I will have waiting for me.

Have a great night folks! 😍

I admit I only watched a few minutes of the game tonight... but from what I saw, Louisville would get destroyed by Michigan

It's because Louisville hasn't faced a team with defense. I'm not sure about OSU, but yes, Michigan would beat them badly.

I'm starting to get scared about the Indiana game in a week for michigan... it's in Bloomington, Indiana has been playing on emotion and winning some solid games lately, and Michigan might be looking ahead :scared:

I mean seriously, 1,000+ yards of offense combined? I'm glad Louisville won because I think Rutgers will beat them next week (at Rutgers). Had WVU won on the ROAD and gone undefeated, UF wouldn't be ranked ahead imo.

I got the feeling South Carolina (at UF) and the FSU game (at FSU) will be really tough for us. Their seasons are done and they just want to be home wreckers now. 🙄

But I know you will "continue not caring about the SEC" so this post has probably been ignored. 😀

WVU has been running the same offense for years now and they've been exposed in the past... what is UF ?

Here's the run down:

If Michigan loses to OSU (both undefeated at match up), even by a small amount, they will fall out of the top 2 because they were number 2. If OSU loses by a very small amount with little time left, they could fall to as high as 2, so re-match.

Now if Michigan loses or OSU loses by a lot, 2nd place could be Louisville, Florida, or Auburn. The last two will be determined by SEC championship result. Whoever wins that will be against Louisville and it will come down to the computers (human poll would put either at 2 or 3 so that's a slight gap, computer will determine it fully).

😴 cya

Alright CC, 4 posts left. Let's get this done. Since both of our DJs are eating cookies while holding hands, I'm taking over (don't worry, they wont' read this evers). *cues Eye of the Tiger and cranks volume up*

Bitch, please. Don't you dare try to pull a fast one with your agent and publicist ever again.

I didn't even notice truthfully.

👍 Always good to shoot up a few grams before going into the stadium.

omg why am i still awake

Ditto 🙁

Bitch, please. Don't you dare try to pull a fast one with your agent and publicist ever again.

I was out of my element. Please forgive me. 😳 I'll see you on Saturday, though. Not in person, only in your frustration.

Conan is over. 😴 G'night!

1. Favorite Song of All Time (post link to video on youtube if you can find it)

Depends on the mood I'm in. Don't have a favorite. But when I'm sad I like listening to Moby's Extreme ways from the Bourne Supremacy. When I want to dance, I listen to fast paced techno style Indian music. When I'm in the mood I'll listen to punk or alternative too.
2. Best date you've ever had

Never been on a date so can't comment on that one.

3. What was the last thing you ate?

Just ate an egg/cheese sandwich and hash browns from Chickfila for breakfast.

4. Who was the last person you hugged?

A friend of mine hugged me yesterday. He works in the computer lab on campus. Won't reveal a name due to privacy issues and this being a public forum.

5. What was the last thing you said out loud?
I don't recall what the last thing I said out loud was.

6. What color are your sheets?
Blue-grey kind of shades

7. What shoes are you wearing right now?
Brown aerosoles business shoes because I'm about to leave to volunteer.

8. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
Maybe south India or Rajasthan because its beautiful there. Otherwise, I'd say somewhere in Europe like Greece. BTW, Greece is the next major place in Europe I intend to see some day.

guju, that made me laugh out loud, literally, as this question was in response to me being the dumbest person ever.

It's a good question though and doesn't have an easy answer. I am going to jump in the shower (wash the dead bodies off and all) and will think about it and get back to you. Funny you should ask, I was just having sort of similar conversation with a friend just a bit ago.

Yeah I was just curious cuz perspective changes as things get harder from med school to residency and a lot of perspective on medicine changes during and after residency.

BTW: I love your new avatar.

I am not particularly pale. I don't wear sunscreen and have only had one sunburn my whole life.

Of course, some of this could be because I don't go outside.

My first roommate ever use to peel very badly when she went out in the sun to the point it was really gross looking because her skin would peel in layers.

On the subject of pale being a status symbol in the olden days, I think it still is thought of as a sign of beauty and higher status in current society in both western and eastern cultures.

Then I should be worshipped beyond belief! When I show my legs, I blind people!

I love Fridays....no classes! WOO HOO! In bed...as long as I want to be. Dude! Fridays RAWK!

(hey- did you see my PM? special message just for you in there..)

I saw it! I am so glad she dropped the jerk. LOOOOOOOOSER! You look awesome in that pic!

You know, I did!!!

So far no new patients today. Gonna check on the placenta situation. I think there is some possibility I may be able to sneak away for a nap. 😉

Wow, all night AND a nap? Who are you and what have you done with beary?? 😉

Thanks about my avatar!

I am still thinking about the answer to your question. 🙂 Some of it I am just trying to figure out for myself. But I will get back to you. One thing to keep in mind is that medicine/science is literally the only thing I have ever done. Even in college, my jobs were as a research assistant and as a tech at a pharmaceutical company. Started MSTP straight out of undergrad at 21, took me 7 years, now am a path resident. So I don't have anything to compare it to. So some of my "unhappiness" may very well be common to all jobs and I just don't realize it.
