I understand. Mississippi humidity = SUCKS. Definitely not going outside for the next... 3-4 months.

The weather is perfect here. It's normally a REALLY windy city (70 mph wind is pretty much a daily occurence), but the last few days it's been very still. It's probably about 75-80 outside. In the mountains it's going to be a little colder, though - we're already 3500 ft above sea level here, and where I'm going, it's 4500-6000.

Some Canadian fool I know who's never been to Mississippi was telling me about how she was going to come down there this summer to do some Katrina-related volunteering. I laughed in her FACE.😎

I remember getting outside at 10 PM in July in Gulfport and immediately covering with sweat and water even if all I did was sit on the porch.

wow. That's... far above sea level. At "home" my house is about 25 ft above... here, it's quite higher but probably 200-ish (not really sure). Still, i dont think i'd be able to breathe way up there!! :laugh::laugh:

You know, I didn't realize that we were that high above for a LONG time - it wasn't until I was driving up North one day and some small town on the way had a "welcome" sign which happened to have the elevation inscribed on it. So when I got home, I googled my area, and yeah, we're at the same level of 3500 ft.

But I remember going for a run on one of my first days here and stopping after running just quarter of a mile, totally out of breath - and being REALLY perplexed by it. I remember thinking that I had only taken like 2 weeks off, and so I couldn't possibly gotten THAT out of shape so fast....well, now I know what happened!

I wonder, if I come down to your area now (or anywhere else that's at sea level), would I be able to run a marathon in 2 hours?:hardy::laugh:

Woohoo, I was right-on 🙂🙂 LOL. You might COULD run a marathon in 2 hours, but only in the wintertime! that oven feeling would overwhelm u quick now that you've been away for a while.. probably.

On to Physics-Demystified. Finished what I had planned to do today, with 4.45 hrs to spare 👍. I might can double up today!

I told her and she was just silent on the phone for like an entire MINUTE!


Then she tried to inch me into negotiating my salary - "So, do you have another job? Because I remember you mentioning that you needed the money the other day?" I was like "No, I don't have another job, and I won't be working at all for the rest of the summer.:hardy:"

I asked her for a raise a month and a half ago before I put in my original resignation notice (which I withdrew later), and she said no. Too late now! If she had given me a raise back then, I might have stayed.

Wow.. so something that probably lost me at least 1 pt on the MCAT has been cleared up thanks to physics demystified... And I'm SOOO not even admitting what it was.. it's that embarrassing.. 😳😳😳

i adore highlights... but the upkeep! never follow up and then it gets all brassy on me 😡 never got blonde streaks, cause well, lili's really weren't made for blonde streaks.

Same here... I love highlights.. it's just SOOO hard to carve out that time to get them done every few months!

I am not allowed to leave the salon without another appointment scheduled. He says every 5-6 weeks. I push it to 6-8 because it's a tad pricey.

See, I never had enough hair for an updo - my hair is really fine and slick, so it looks crappy in an updo and the updo falls apart very quickly.

I got short hair now - part of the original motivation was that I was bleaching it, and it damages hair a lot, so if I had long hair, it would be completely fried. With short hair, though, the hair is fairly young, so the damage is not as obvious.

I'm not bleaching it anymore, but I still like having short hair that doesn't get in my face or stick to my neck and back when it's hot outside. Plus it's so easy to wash, which is important for me, since I try to work out regularly.

I do have 3 wigs with long hair that I can wear if I feel like having luxurious locks for a day or two.:hardy: Well, one of them I actually can't wear anymore, it's a headband wig which shows the front of your hair, and it's blond, so now that I'm not blond anymore, it won't work. But I still got the dark brown one with highlights and the long red one with waves and bangs.:hardy:

I usually do mine every 8 or so, when I can. This time it's been forever, my beautician's mother was just dx with met.s lung CA and they've been quite preoccupied.

Dang! Most I've had was two.

For my prom, the lady used like two cans of hair spray on me. But it stayed put all night... and the next day, even after I took all the pins out.

Washing it out sucked tho.
