Despite the threat of being banned by certain evil Randomite moderators on power trips, I couldn't resist posting a nice set of breasts.

Happy Thanksgiving Randomites!

Yup, I'm in love.:biglove:

We're having a pot-luck lunch at work on Friday to bid farewell to a co-worker. I think I'm gonna use it twice in one week!

oh I just love my crockpot. the only way to get a hot meal when living alone and away from the house for 16+ hours. or the only non fast food hot meal that is...

got out of physics with an a and made an a on my organic final so I should have an a in there as well. my trimester from hell is over, and I'm playing doctor in the morning (shadowing) so I should sleep so I'm ready to actually learn something from him. lol.

waitin on my doc I'm shadowing to get to work lol. must be nice. 🙂

Sounds like my husband's aunt. The day I shadowed her, we saw one of her patients in the parking lot as we pulled in (she gave me a ride, as she lives around the block from my mother-in-law), and she was like "ugh . . . I hate it when they see me come in late!" Nice. 🙄

Woot-woot, I came in to toot my horn! Got an interview at my #1 choice, U of Alberta! If I get in there, I'd get to stay in AB (my hope), I'd get to live in Edmonton (I love that city), my tuition will only be $10,500 a year, AND I will be able to do electives in EVERY specialty I'm interested in (from derm to sudden death investigation) right on site w/o having to travel anywhere. Heading to the interview in a month, before my Queen's interview.

Life is good for Joch! How's everyone else doing?👍

Congrats on the interviews!!

I have a crock pot and never use it 😳 I really should, I just don't have any recipes on hand for it

Yup that was how I felt as well. I'm addicted to buying cookbooks, particualrly from the "Bargain Books" section of Borders, so I bought this very pretty slow cooker recipe book a few years ago. It turned out that for every recipe, you had to do like 15 steps and dirty 12 pots and bowls before you could even turn the dang crockpot on. So, yeah. I never used my crockpot. 😳 In the book I just tried, though, ("Easy Slow Cooker Recipes" . . . also a Borders Bargain Book) there's maybe 7 ingredients, tops, for any of the recipes, and the directions are generally to put everything in the crockpot and turn it on. Woo-hoo!

Yesterday was amazing... 10 colons and 4 EGDs before noon, two hospital trips, 27 in clinic patients, and an emergency surgery last night. I'm beat but exhilirated. Made it home and rolling into EXTREME MCAT study.

65 days!

Congrats, Gradu8!!!

Happy Valentine's Day, randomites! (Translation: happy day of eating all of the candy/chololate you can get your hands on!) They had dip-your-own chocolate-covered strawberries in the cafeteria at work today. Score!!! 😍

Too quiet around here, we were almost off the front page! C'mon guys!

Oh, and I put another 4.0 trimester in the bag. :hardy::hardy::hardy::hardy:

No more physics! (except mcat, 64 days) On to organic II!

Congrats!!! That's really really good. I think taking all these classes right before the MCAT will help you a lot as well because it will make it that much less of a hassel trying to figure out material. Good luck. 🙂

P.S. I've not been on because I was so busy studying for our exam we had this afternoon. i got an A so I'm excited. 🙂

hahaha I was just reading my USF Health email and there was something about an upcoming event with chocolate fondue and strawberries coming up due to the Melting pot people coming on campus. I suppose they are trying to do a fund raiser for St. Jude's Cancer Center from what I read in the email.

I used to love going into my old freshman year job at the mail room on Valentine's day. The whole room from front desk to the back mail storage room would be filled with all sorts of roses and flowers and other sorts of colorful things. I love being surrounded by flowers. They are so pretty and colorful.

hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for a new week... new classes start for me in the morning, but I'm actually excited about some of them so that's a positive. and no more late physics evenings!

genetics tom, organic ii and group counseling tues...

It's pretty quiet here in random-ville! Did everyone come down with the flu or something? Speaking of which, that is going around like mad! My husband is terrified! We went to a movie on Saturday, and it was packed . . . he wanted to leave. (For those interested, the movie was "Definitely, Maybe" and it was a really fun movie to see!)

definitely got a flu shot, but everyone in town that hasn't had one is home in the bed. that's some bad stuff!!

genetics was a blast this morning... I think I'm going to love it 🙂

tomorrow is my long day... organic ii, work, organic lab, and group counseling.... woohoo.

stay well, randomites!!

i didn't...but my bf did. 🙁

actually, more like :barf:

but in happier news...he's better now, and we are cat-sitting for three weeks for a really cute fluffy kittty! 😀

My virology professor was telling us he's not an advocate for flu shots in young people. He said its wiser for only either health care workers or elderly people to get the vaccines. I forget what the reasoning was behind it.

I get it because I had a horribly sick childhood due to my lungs being compromised (34 days on a vent as a baby... closed head injury). I developed severe asthma and pulmonary problems.

a funny thing tho... my primary care physician is a pulmonologist, so therefore I'm one of the youngest patients he has by far.. so technically I suppose I fit into the oldpeople category for the flu shot (at least relative to the condition of my lungs).

Oooh! Cat-sitting is fun!! Kitties are cute, and fluffy kitties are even cuter. 😀 My friends and I trade off looking in on each other's cats when we go out of town.

There was a time when I was paid to cat-sit (cushiest job EVER!) . . . it was for a friend of my former boss - a fabulously quirky professor who paid me more money to watch her cats than some people pay babysitters to watch their children. She required that I spend at least 3 hours a day with the cats, but meanwhile I got to hang out in her amazing townhouse, watch her amazing cable, and play with her amazing cats . . . I felt like I should have been paying her!

If I could, I would be a professional cat sitter, lol. But instead I'm a lowly professional student right now. Uber busy too. Never thought the weekend would come. Anyone have any plans for the weekend?

I would be working all day, both days, at the ER. It has been an incredibly uneventful morning, for which I am grateful. 👍

whoa, that's awesome. where can i find one of those deals??

i have a friend in nyc who is THE BEST at getting super sweet babysitting jobs. it helps that she likes kids a lot and is good with them, but she seems to always get these deals where she gets paid to stay in someone's gorgeous townhouse and eat their food for a few weeks while they go galavanting off in other countries.

That's exactly what this was like, except that I was watching cats (still kind of can't believe it myself) . . . because this chica loves her cats to death and treats them better than lots of people are treated! She would even tell me to make sure that the heat was up to 74 for them in the winter and the AC was at 69 in the summer . . . um . . . they're cats!! Save some $ on heating and cooling while you're off in Brazil, lady! But I don't think there was any sense in reasoning with her when it came to the cats. She even got their teeth cleaned for like $500/cat . . . because she takes them to the most expensive vet in town, of course! *Sigh* . . . I think I need a kittymama like that for me!
