Despite the threat of being banned by certain evil Randomite moderators on power trips, I couldn't resist posting a nice set of breasts.

Happy Thanksgiving Randomites!

I think we're finally going to make it to page 20....

Oscar 😍

The dresses, the hot men.... drool....

Woo-hoo!! (Both for pg. 20 and for the Oscars 😀)

I hadn't really seen any of the nominated films, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the show. Jon Stewart did a great job. I still REALLY miss Billy Crystal (God, I'm old), but I think this was the best post-Billy hosting effort. The show certainly could have done without some of the montages, but I love that he made fun of the montages! and Angelina Jolie! Good stuff. 👍

Ditto.

How's everyone doing? I've been sluggish today... think it's just a good case of the Mondays though. We got a pedigree assignment for genetics so i'll be on the phone with family members half the night... grrr.... (it could be fun i suppose).

Ok, unacceptable . . . we're almost falling off the first page. (Sheesh. All these silly people and their on-topic MCAT discussions! 🙄)

Anyway, I have nothing substantive to add except to say that I am REALLY tired and NOT looking forward to another monotone biochem lecture 😴and potential pop quiz on enzyme kinetics. :scared: *Sigh* 9:00 can't come too quickly tonight!

What else is going on in random-ville tonight??

Nice job making it out the door in 5 minutes gradu8! I'm impressed!

There was a pop quiz on enzyme kinetics last night, BUT it was EASY!! Woo-hoo! My cramming paid off. 😀 Definitely not looking forward to the midterm next week, though . . . eek! :scared: Am looking forward to the week off that follows, though. :horns: (Yep, a very big deal to just have work and not work + class next Tues. 🙄)

indeed. I'm excited a/b spring break myself... i'll be shadowing through most of it, but its a break from school and I love shadowing 🙂

turning in that ochem quiz this morning. finished up my pedigrees , and glad its thursday... which meand my week isslowing down. 🙂

Wow. I am jealous! Naps rock. 👍 Enjoy the extra 😴

Oh, I did... I've been running about 2 hours behind every night this week, so the deficit was adding up... and exhaustion makes me more prone to get sick, so since everyone under the sun is sick I figured I better crash and burn for a few hours.

I feel MUCH better. Back to MCAT studying. Sigh.

my sister and I are going to see keith urban and carrie underwood this weekend... we are quite excited. my brother in law is bringing her over tomorrow and they decided to stay the night tomorrow night before we leave for the concert saturday morning. fun times, but it meant rapid house cleaning! ahh!

got about half of it done and on my last dvd of gold standard 🙂

todays genetics test was fairly uneventful... the lord had mercy on me. ha. class is from eight to nine fifteen and when I gave a tour abt thirty minutes ago folks were still working.

bad weather tonight. ick.

got in a bit early which is a good thing... enough time for a nap. since the weather will be rough this evening and tomorrow is a long day, that's a good thing. definitely need to catch up on my sleep after such a long weekend.

everyone must be staying incredibly busy these days! good morning all!

Tis true! I've been busy with school and not feeling well lately. Going to see the doctor today. Hope everyone has a good day. Oh and when's people's spring breaks? Mine is next week. woohoo.

Same here, next week. Looking forward to it! Planning on shadowing, studying and sleeping.

School = insane. Got back first genetics test and pwned it 👍 so in good shape in there. Three more to go! Organic is going... i'll be glad to have it done.

Watching the news and studying. Our hudsons bought out a bookstore and they had the EK 1001's for 75% off, so I bought new copies (my dumb butt didn't work them well the first tiem and consulted the back for the answers... and used PEN. geez) just to have some extra practice stuff.

They also had a ton of other stuff... spent waaay too much money in there yesterday but I have a ton of things to read after MCAT in 43 days!

ahh, spring break would be nice. our "spring break" consists of 2 days off the week before exams. how nice of them. 😛

Is it because you are MD/pHD or is it for all MD students? I know USF med school and FSU med and other schools in Fl. give a week off like a regular spring break. Sometimes students use this to go overseas to do a med mission trip.

But their spring break is at a different time from the grad students and rest of campus.

its spring break!! wooohooo!!
we had a baby shower for my boss today... she racked up. her 4d ultrasound she got done yesterday was amazing... the technology these days! have any of you had 4d ultrasounds? you can see everything...even the baby's facial features enough to tell that she looks like her mama!

LOL yeah technology we have these days is amazing. 3 of my bros friends are also having babies soon. I just went and saw one of them yesterday and her hubby. They are having a baby boy in July. She's asian and him caucasian so it will be interesting to see what the baby looks like.

I bet that baby will be beautiful 🙂..

visiting with family then going home to pack to head down to the coast for the week. need to call the doc I shadow n see what days I can follow him around.

yeah. I'm excited for her baby to be born because it is one of the first of my own friends to be having a baby too since I'm close to the wife and grew up with the husband. He was my childhood neighbor.

Yikes, anyone take Immunology yet? I'm it it right now and its bizzare. Our labs are weird because we use actual lab rats and inject them with antigen. For the past 3 weeks we were purifying a type of bacteria, then isolating a particular antigen, then cleaning it out, as so forth. This last Friday was injection day. We were each given a lab rat in a cage along with a syringe and all that good stuff. We had to inject the mice with our individually prepared antigen. There were two weird things about it.

1) The prof and the TAs never checked our work at any stage. When someone asked if their calculations were right the Prof simply stated out loud "You guys have been in enough labs over the years to know how to take good notes and do a good job. You shouldn't need our help, its time to be more independent. Quite simply, if you have not been paying attention these last few weeks... your mouse will die" 😱

2) None of us have ever worked with real, live animals before. It was weird. It really brought a whole new element to doing Pre-Med. Before this lab everything was like a chemistry lab, predetermined and sterile. And you can't learn an equation or study a book to predict the actions of a live animal. It was really quite a revelation to work with something and have its life depend on your actions. When the lab manual said "inject 5.15mL" I made dam sure my pipet read 5.15 and not 5.14

It was a very cool lab though, at the end of it we all had a huge confidence boost, knowing our mice would still be alive the next day thanks to our hard work and knowledge. It was a taste of medicine... and I liked it.🙂

wow... interesting story. I've worked with animals a bit, but pre-pre med (back in my undergrad days as a psych major).

spring break = love. shadowing mon, tues, and wed in surgery, endoscopy, and clinic.

I 😍 GI!

some states don't observe daylight savings time... I'm not sure which though.

Arizona definitely doesn't. (I arrange conference calls with folks in Arizona all the time and have to confirm in "Arizona time" 🙄) Apparently Hawaii doesn't either: http://www.infoplease.com/spot/daylight1.html

Parts of Indiana didn't used to. Yes, parts. I went to undergrad in one of the counties that didn't, and my Mom is still confused as to whether I change my clocks or not now! 😱 However, they changed the freaking law a couple of years ago, so last year when I went back for a football game, I got there an hour later than I thought I was getting there. 😡 WTF?!! And now, some counties observe Eastern time while others observe Central time . . . what a mess!

Yeah, I was affected by that assanine implementation. Being in Illinois and having a gf in Indiana definately hurts that hour.

Sorry, end rant about time zone changes.

lol. I've decided after another practice test that ps has to be my best friend for five weeks if I intend to kick this thing. sigh.

I hate ps. oh wait... I love ps (practicing the best friend mentality).

I love shadowing even more. hopeful the afternoon will make me more dedicated to the five weeks of hell remaining.
