I finished that 6th U Conn essay last night, finally.....sending the secondary out today. My physics midterm is on Monday, so I will be spending the weekend studying for that.

Oh man, that's a bunch of BS! They are disbursing them on Sept 1st, but my tuition is due on Aug 10! Luckily, I do have the tuition money now (just means less $ for secondaries, but I probably won't get most of them till mid-August anyway), but seriously, that's pretty stupid.😴

I think maybe the first time you didn't know how to study for it or approach the test and you are realizing where you went wrong. I know someone who had a 23 the first time she took it and by the 3rd try she ended up with 35R.

She had a 27 her second try because she only had a month and a half to study and she'd pretty much forgotten most of her Physics stuff and never understood that so she had to relearn a lot of material. But when she got it all down she did awesome.

Good luck and keep up the work.

Only in South Mississippi....

The feature on tonight's news was the so-called appearance of a random kangaroo in Bay St. Louis.

Now, the last time I checked, kangaroos weren't randomly floating around South Mississippi (and just fyi there aren't any zoos missing a kangaroo).

So I just had a mushroom & swiss burger w/ fries and a slice of Rolo cheesecake from The Cheesecake Cafe (like the Cheesecake Factory in the US) for dinner....Apparently, the 2 items are just over 2000 calories, sooooooo once I digest a bit in 30 mins, I'm off to the gym for a relaxing 1.5 hours on the elliptical.:laugh: Would be going for 3, but the gym closes at 10:30 and it's 8:20 now.:laugh:

MAN! You always regret eating those things!👎 LOL.

Lol. I'm playing dr tonight.. my best friend is in bed with an awful migraine. Here's hoping we don't have to go to the ER (for her that is), although it's always an adventure! (Sad that the ER is a field trip, eh?)

early morning rant:

I am coming off a 12-hour overnight shift and was supposed to be off 3 minutes ago. However my coworker who was supposed to be here 33 minutes ago has not shown up yet. 😡 And when I called her house, her kid said she was gone. And we don't have a cell number listed for her. 😡 😡

My significant other and I did go out to meet some friends for dinner and drinks last night but hardly imbibed to get a hangover. We're both lightweights when it comes to drinking.

I get these weirds cravings for certain types of junk food every so often. Maybe it's 'cause I usually cook meals or go out to restaurants and hardly ever eat fast food. I'm a Taco Bell or Del Taco fan when I'm fast food binging.

Dammit....I ordered two hash browns, not one 😡 At least they charged me correctly 👍

I'm kind of lucky in that we have fairly few restaurants and fast food places in town. I'm a huge fan of Chipotle, for example, but there aren't any here (or in Canada, in general). The only Mexican restaurant we got SUCKS. I definitely give this fact some credit for the weight I've lost since moving to Canada. I remember how I'd eat at Chipotle like 3 times a week and wonder why I wasn't losing weight....I was working out pretty hard, after all, and outside of the Chipotle lunches, I was really watching what I eat. Well, turned out their burritos are like 1800 calories if you get all the fixings - even if you work out and have a good metabolism, you couldn't possibly lose weight on that. I thought it'd be like 1000!:laugh: Oh yeah, if you order the bol (w/o the tortilla, which doesn't really add any taste anyway), it's 300 calories less.👍 Thought I'd share the wisdom, haha.

So I could barely sleep this morning, I kept hearing all these sirens even through my earplugs. I wonder what happened, there must've been either a major fire or a violent crime nearby.😱 I don't have a TV, so no way to check until the paper comes out on Monday - but maybe someone at the gym knows? We've only had one murder here in this century, when this 14-yo killed his social worker (that turned me off from the thought of doing social work real fast, lol).:scared:

LOL. I spoke to the folks at the gym, no one knows exactly what happened, but they said there were cop cars everywhere this morning and they blocked off about 3-4 blocks looking for someone. I wonder if someone escaped from the correctional facility, it's within an hour's walk.:scared: *reconsiders sleeping with the bedroom window open*



Oh, and hell nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo - it's gonna be 109 F on Monday! And I have no AC! I wanted to buy one, but they said they shipped them in at 8 AM yesterday and by 8:10 they were all gone!😱

Goin' up to the Big City on Monday, though, so maybe they have some up there, though I doubt, to be honest.

Eh, as a girl living in a city 7ish correctional facilities, I worry more about the ones that haven't been caught yet vs. the ones that are caught escaping.

Some crazy dude is on the lam after killing three people near where my folks live. I'm more worried about them than me. They've even got his profile on AMW :scared:

Is anyone else amused by the fact that Aquafina is just tapwater? I have always been against drinking bottled water as a substitute for tapwater, especially spring water. Could be from anywhere. Plus, the wastage of plastic...

I drink tapwater, and I use a Rubbermaid reusable bottle for it. They charge bottle deposit here, anyway, so it deters some of the eco-vandals, and at least encourages the rest to recycle so they can get their deposit back. It also provides some income to the few folks I know who are on AISH.

I thought that Aquafina business was hilarious. When bottled water was "in", it was "pure and natural". Now that bottled is out and tap is "in", it's been tap all along. Hahahaha.

Finally (after 2 weeks and 5lbs lost) gave up on that a$$aninely small bridesmaids dress for January and sucked up $170 to order another one, rush delivery. It'll be here in 7-9 weeks, I don't have to be a P.I.A bridesmaid, and I dont have to starve myself during thanksgiving and Christmas.

look on the bottom of your bottle--watch out for plastic #7.....this type of plastic will leach cancer causing chemicals into your water in hot weather...like if you leave it in the car or something. yeah--i was using a bottle for like half a year and realized that it's that kind of plastic. great
