Wisdom teeth out. Mucho pain!
Ouch!!!

When I had them out, I went out for dinner a few hours later and accidentally bit a chunk of my lip off....I had been chewing on something and it was freaking impossible to chew, so I spit it out to see what the heck it was, and it was a piece of the inside of my lip, the size of my fingernail. GAAAAAHHH!!! :barf:

awwww ouch!!! My dentist keeps telling me that I need to get mine out--one is impacted. I was reading that you should get it done before you are 20 years old b/c the roots are less developed and there's less of a risk for nerve damage and stuff. ugh but they never bother me and i'm such a chicken.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! 😱

my lil sis is 5 and she went to a pediatric dentist to get a cavity filled. Well on the car ride home, she ended up chewing the inside of her lip up really bad b/c she was numb!! my mom was flipping out

Yeah, all my dentists kept telling me to remove one of mine, too, but I was like, whatever - till one actually showed me the X-ray. It was PERFECTLY perpendicular to my other teeth! I HAD to get it out afterwards. And then he showed me the tooth once he took it out, and it was mega-freaky - it had roots that curled outwards at the end.

MUTANT WISDOM TEETH!!!!:scared::scared::scared:

The story about chewing your lip from the inside is scary too :scared::scared:

So like 6 hours later, I'm feeling fine.

It was just that inbetween time when I didn't have my Rx.

You should get it done. I actually don't remember anything other than them discussing fat grafts (not for me or anything) while I was on the nitrous and they were preparing the IV, next thing I know, I'm in the room with a nurse and my buddy taking me home.

Oh, they knocked you out completely? I've never had full anesthesia during dental work (even surgery), just local. I rememebr getting surgery when I was a kid and the dentist was talking to the hygienist about her daughter and trying to get my opinion on whatever toys she had picked....it was hard to say much when you are leaking blood, saliva, you've got all kinds of tubes running out of your mouth, and you have like 2000 yards of gauze in there, too.

ugh wisdom teeth. bad painful memories. Novacaine is the worst because you cant taste anything you're eating.

They might take all 4 out if they put you under general anesthetic. I had to go trough that. My bottom wisdom teeth were impacted (completely sideways), but they decided that the top 2 should go too while they were at it.

I felt pretty crappy the first day, but managed to sleep alot too. The rest of the recovery process went surprisingly well. I was off my pain meds in 2 days... but they made me feel woozy. And milkshakes are a definite plus 👍

so while we are on the subject of teeth... i have a friend who is completely missing a molar--it never grew in and she told me it's genetic. kinda freaky

Weird. I knew someone who never lost her baby teeth. It was weird. Her grandmother had the same thing, so I guess there is a genetic component to it.

It would suck though...no visits from the tooth fairy and her teeth were really small.

Ouch!!!! My older one had a filling a couple months ago but it was just on the surface and the dentist didn't even have to numb her. Now I'm really, really happy he didn't have to! I could totally see my daughter doing that.

That's exactly what it was like for me.

They gave me an IV sedative or something like that. Wasn't as strong as general anesthesia but more than laughing gas (which was offered an option - no way! I wanted to be out!!!).

You might as well have them all taken out while they are in there already. My mom had all four of her wisdom teeth until just a few years ago. They came in fine, but I guess those teeth are really prone to decay so often they have to come out when you are older anyway.

I don't think it would really hurt anymore to have them take all four.

Wisdom teeth out. Mucho pain!

I got sooo sick afterwards... oral surgeon didn't suction well during the procedure and I aspirated. Ended up w/ aspiration pneumonia in ICU for three days and on the floor for 2 more weeks before going home. I was out of school for 6 weeks... it was awful! 🙁

i'm glad you caught it so early. i guess they chew on their lips because the numb feeling is really strange. i know how badly it hurts just to bite my tongue or lip--and she totally chewed up the inside of her bottom lip--poor thing.

i've never had a cavity--thank goodness

sunburn...wisdom teeth removal.....sad day for the randomites
don't feel too bad for me. I spent all day strolling around Martha's Vineyard eating really good seafood, looking at amazing architecture, and gorgeous ocean views.

I just didn't remember to put sunscreen on before doing it.

(have I mentioned how much I really really really really really needed this vacation????????)

Yup, I remember that. You deserved the vacation!! No interruptions I hope (I remember you saying something about testifying in court)

yeah, you know I called our department secretary and said "I don't know what you're talking about, and I'm not calling anyone unless there's a subpoena." and I haven't heard anything since. I'm not one to go chasing down more work to do, so I plan on not mentioning anything to anyone about it. :meanie:

my brother and his best friend are outside smoking cigars and drinking Lagovoulin (sp?) scotch, an activity in which I have zero interest.

I only had the upper wisdon teeth removed as my lowers never existed.

I are only half as smart I guess.

Is that a new kitten Oxeye? S/he's beautiful! I love the blue eyes. What kind of cat is it?

ARGH!!!!!

I couriered it there last Thursday, so it should have arrived to their door on Monday!😡

*blaaaaah*

I guess it's a long weekend of physics for me instead of the secondaries.🙄

through snail mail? the processing for me last year was really quick--the turnaround was next day usually
Yeah mine went through. I setup the deliveries last night at like 1 AM and they were shipped around 10. I upgraded to the 2-3 priority mailing too so I should be complete kinda soon.

Hm, I sent mine out electronically on Wednesday night and so far I have not received an update message saying that they were processed.😕

Leaving for Nebraska tomorrow to meet Luke the Duke (what his big sis calls him. 😍 )

I really need to pack but first thing on the agenda - nap.
