Preach it!👍 I'm trying to think of a back-up plan for next year (sorry, the thought of a master's nauseates me), since I don't think it'd make sense to apply to the police if I end up reapplying to med next year, which I'm sure I will...but I can't think of anything I could do for a year without extra training.👎

I'm only an hour's drive from the border...and from the mountains. But we do have 3300+ ft elevation here, even though it's pretty flat.

Oh wonderful. I just got a call from Early Intervention and I'm going to be audited in October.

It's something they do every couple of years for each therapist, and my last one was in November 2005. What a pain in the butt during application season. Especially since my files are scattered and I am not the most diligent person about filing. I have stacks of papers everywhere. *sigh* I hope they don't pick more than 10 kids 😱

DUDE! Stupid Interfolio never sent my letters to Vermont! I'm glad I e-mailed UVM and asked - it's been almost a month since I had sent them. And it's electronic delivery, so IF can't blame it on the postal service...:meanie:

my LOR service also took forever to get the letters out. Might be part of the reason why I havent heard anything yet. 😳

So I entered dad's name into that Led Zeppelin ticket lottery - I think it'd make a good present for his 50th this fall. I've heard something like 40 million people entered the lottery for just 40,000 tickets!😱 And that's a lottery to win the right to BUY a ticket!

If that doesn't work out, there's always the handknit scarf.:laugh:

OH MY GOD, I JUST SAW THE MOST HORRIBLE THING EVER!!!!!😱

I was at the pet store, looking at snakes...and this one snake looked kinda weird - it looked like it had rings instead of scales. So I leaned in to get a better look and it was a GIANT MILLIPEDE!!!!!!😱 :scared: :scared: :scared:

It was thicker than my thumb and at least a foot long! IT WAS SO DISGUSTING!!!

I didn't post bc I couldn't get on today.. forums weren't pulling up. I agree that office work sucks. my back up plan for next year def involves clinical wprk, I can't stand another year of just pushing papers (papers that don't matter for that).

Oh joy. I get to review transcription/translation in detail for A&P. Haven't touched the stuff since Fall 2005. And I have definitely NOT seen the word "snRNP" used in the 2 years since!😴

I get especially encouraged when my med student friend says they don't even study this crap in med school.🙄

are you f-ing kidding me?? i almost went into cardiac arrest when i saw that one in my apt. the other day and it was only like an inch long. ugh i would have cried seeing that in a pet shop----where did they get that thing? the freakin rainforest?

thought I had a roach follow me in the house tonight but it turned out to be a harmless cricket.

just had a sneeezing fit that couldve woke the dead. allergies (the weather's changing) but hope it doesn't turn into a real cold.

just found out my ex boyfriend-couldvebeenfiance has a new girlfriend... and even though its been six months since we broke up, its like a knife in the heart. doesn't help he spent the last three months trying to fix things "at any cost- ill wait as long as it takes" then today he's got a new girlfriend. I just wish it didn't have to hurt so bad. why do I even care? I knew it was over.. a long time ago. but for some reason, we hold on to the fairytale just because if there's nothing to hope for its not worth being.

we weren't at the right time but we were right. and no matter what happens in my life, ill always know he was my first soulmate. and with everything I am, I pray to God for second chances and that there will be someone else along the way to fill that spot...

(sorry... late night rant or emotional female whichever you'd like to assume)

Go out on some dates just for fun. And yeah, I believe there are multiple soulmates out there for everyone - heck, I've already met two of mine.:laugh: I rarely meet people I find interesting, but I'm sure I'll meet someone awesome in med school - after all, they handpick the most unusual/smart/well-rounded individuals from a pretty large group of people.

a pirate walks into a bar. the bartender gives him a funny look as he sits down. The bartender finally decides to ask the pirate what he's been pondering.

Bartender: "Dude, you know you have a steering wheel in your pants, right?"

Pirate: "Yarr, I know! It's driving me nuts!"
