OK, I'm worried...after reading here on SDN that the number of apps to many schools doubled, likely due to the many opportunities that are now available to rewrite your crappy MCAT score, I'm concerned about the Canadian cut-offs rising...Queen's was already 3.78/30Q with 10-10-10 minimum last year. I'm within a hair of the GPA cut-off (3.77), and we were all wondering if this year's cut-offs are gonna go down because the double cohort is past. The double cohort was the result of them removing Grade 13 in high schools, so last year they had a lot more people graduate universities than before. So we were expecting the number of apps to drop this year due to fewer double cohort applicants, and as the result, the cut-offs to drop. But after hearing the MCAT score theory, I've become really worried. I hope that if they get more applicants, they will raise the MCAT score instead of the GPA, but I find it highly unlikely, given that they reduce the pool based on GPA first (which is dumb, because GPA is not standardized, but MCAT is).

It's 82 today. Finally feeling like fall. :laugh:

I'm about to go see the last prof with a good possibility of LOR writing, hopefully he'll be in (office hrs from 1-4, but who knows if he'll keep em, he's never been much of the office type). I know he'll write a good one and that'll ease my mind abt this process a significant amount as far as this year is concerned.

Wow, I'm so hyper today, I'm practically bouncing off the walls...I think I'm gonna have to go run (quite literally) some errands before I can calm down enough to study. I wonder if the enormous dinner last night is to blame.

so I made a b on my phys test which I jus fine for this class considering they count for fifteen percent. plus the bonus hasn't been added on.

in other news that extra prof is writing an lor, yay. great day here.

Struggled through another week, woohoo. I'm glad to see thursday come though, and looking forward to my afternoon nap. Still at work right now but definitely ready to go home and do some serious sleeping.

Awww. Lots of people are getting sick here too. Myself included. I just got over a flu-like virus, and now I have hives. Wonderful 🙁 Did your hives just go away on their own?

Got another stupid hold, this time from U Conn....But then I looked at US News, and about 2300 OOS applied and only 170 were interviewed in 2005, so I guess I should be happy to have passed the initial screen.

I had a HORRIBLE craving for stuffed bell peppers today...which is bizarre, because I haven't had them for at least half a decade, and whenever my mother cooked them, I hated them. But all of sudden today I was like, "If I don't have a stuffed pepper for dinner, I will DIE." 😱 So I've got 4 in the oven right now. Hopefully it works out, I've never cooked them before, and I used a FoodNetwork recipe, because it was too late to call my mother and ask how she makes them. Unfortunately, I can already tell they'll be different, but I think they'll still be delicious.:hardy:

Wow, I just spent TWO hours working on one Orgo homework problem...and it's only worth 0.5% of my final grade! It was ridiculously hard, if I get smth like that on the midterm/final, I'm toast. I mean, I figured it all out eventually, but it took SO long!

yes, after about 10 months 🙁

but mine were stress-related I think. Idiopathic in nature b/c every allergy test under the sun revealed no source.

Finally done with the first orgo assignment...the remaining 7 problems took me as much time as that ridiculous one I did last night. :barf:

Eew. Sorry you had that experience.

I'm thinking that it probably wasn't an intentional insult toward you, or a comment on your femininity, however. I worked my share of service jobs and even though I was very careful, I occasionally said "sir" when I meant "ma'am" after hours and hours of toiling through the day. Chalk it up to a brain-fart, no foul intended.

Yeah, the part that surprised me was that she didn't apologize..I just kinda stood there looking at her and she was like, "oh...." and then didn't say anything else. *shrug*

Maybe I expect too much from 16-year old girls working at a pharmacy Canada Post desk.:laugh:
