About 2/3 of the way done with the physics final and it isn't too bad so far. Fairly confused on the last 4 or 5 questions but I think my brain is just tired. I'll finish it tomorrow.

Either way, I needed about a 5 on this test to ensure my A, and I'm pretty confident I have that...:laugh:
That would be the first time you would ever be happy with a 6 🙂

I went shopping tonight. :horns:

Got some good deals. 👍

They were playing Christmas music already. 👎 😡

I can't believe how much Christmas stuff is already out in the stores. I probably need to get on the shopping myself.... ugh. I'll do most of it the day-after-Thanksgiving (those 5 am shopping trips are so fun)

Bedtime. Tomorrow's my last 8 oclock of the trimester. Nice to have two weeks off of that. Hopefully I'll be done with everything except my Chem test tomorrow, take that at 11 on Wed, and call it a trimester. That Chem class is one of the ones that is gonna bleed over for another couple of weeks, but it's my last proctored test until the final so not too bad there.

Nov 4 - Thanksgiving week shall be my demise. As soon as those online classes are over and I'm down to four classes total, I'll breathe much easier.

gradu8's official diagnosis: crazy
criteria met: intentions of going shopping on Black Friday.

no way, no how. have never done that, no plan to start now. I worked for Bath and Body Works for 4 years, and always managed to get out of working it by being out of town to be with my family. this year, I shall sleep as I am working overnight on Thurs night (mandatory holiday) until 7:30am. (which means I'll actually be up when the stores open, however nowhere near them 😎 )

I remember last black friday I almost lost an arm at that outlet. I think I'll just be sleeping in on friday this year. 😴

Just did an MMI scenario with a friend, about a doctor who sends his patients to a homeopath because he thinks it will do them no harm, even though he himself thinks homeopathy is BS....and then the question is "what are the ethical problems with his behaviour?"

And then we looked at the evaluation sheet, and one of the evaluation criteria was whether the responder gave equal attention to the benefits and the drawbacks of the situation described, so my friend was like "you focused too much on the drawbacks." I was like, DUH, if they want me to evaluate BOTH aspects, then why does the question ask to describe the PROBLEMS? (aka the bad aspects only)

I personally thought MMI were a pretty cool idea (not sure if they should be used alone, though, I think they are better off paired with a regular interview), but doing this scenario and seeing how they evaluate you made me pretty worried. I'm hoping it's just a poorly worded question and an exception, otherwise, I'd hate to end up with some scenario like this, where I'm asked to do one thing and then evaluated on the other. Blech.

Why do they call it black Friday? Is it because people are mourning their lost limbs? 😛

But seriously...it's such a sombre and grim title for a day that involves frantic shopping. Unless they're referring to the retailers being a lot in the black that day (vs. in the red)

actually, I think that's exactly it.

I'm a borderline shopaholic, but even I have my limits. My rules are that "Black Friday" shopping can only be fun if you stick to higher-end stores between the hours of 8am and 11am. If you're not making a run for the parking lot by then, you have to fight through a sea of crazies to try on or purchase ANYTHING. 😱

I have a friend who has to bond with her mother-in-law every year by waiting for the Wal-Mart to open at 5am. I think she might be a walking saint (my friend, not the mother-in-law).

Haha. I love Black Friday. I know I'm crazy... 😉

I have a friend who just had a baby that is in fairly critical condition...

Blayne (the little girl) was born at 23 weeks, 3 days. She weighed 1 lb, 3 oz and was 12 inches long. She's holding her own and fighting hard... she hasn't had any real major complications yet (they're doing JET vent. system on her), but I know it's going to be a tough couple of months. She's three days old.

Anyone who thinks about praying, lift one up for little Blayne. She's a precious little girl.

come on blayne!!! FIGHTTTT

The LAST problem of the physics disaster... and of course, it's a multiple choice one that's giving me hell. WTG MCAT. haha. If anyone has an educated guess as to the answer OR how to get there, please enlighten me:

A potter's wheel with a moment of inertia of 8.0 kg m2 has 5.0 N m applied to it. It starts from rest. 10 seconds later it has gained what kinetic energy?
a) 44 J
b) 0.12 J
c) 78 J
d) 1.6 kJ
e) 53 J

Thanks for all the well wishes for baby blayne! 🙂

gradu8-

Meet Gregory.

He's my best friend's son, and will be 2 in January. (She'll likely kick my butt if she ever finds out I posted him here. :meanie: ) He was born at 26 weeks, and at 1 lb 8 oz, and stayed in the NICU for about 3 months. He's still a little on the small side, but he's catching up a bit. Current favorite activities are running around like a maniac, babbling, and putting anything and everything he can into his mouth.

:luck: to Blayne. If Gregory could do it, so can she. 😍

Awww! He's precious, and thanks for the 😍
This is blayne's website if you'd like to see a picture... she's just so cute... (her mom would likely kick my butt, however, she's on the web... so...)

I see little miracles at my job everyday... the hardest part though is seeing the kiddos in such a state of helplessness 🙁

Morning everyone!

About 3 hours away from my 11 day break and I couldn't be more ready.

Bring on the Chem test and then I'm off to drop off the physics final 👍 and work for a few hours.

WHERE IS MY 😍 FROM UMSOM??

chem test sucked (70). I can tell I'm burned out and need a break. good news is two of the questions didn't show up so ill get abt 5 pts redeemed for that, then there's a 5 pt extra credit thing that goes w the test. my tests (even this one) are running abt ten pts abv the class avg so I guess all is ok. just bummed ia bit. waiting on this guy I'm supposed to be helpin on the phys test, then off to work and then the blissful break!

I was gonna give it a shot, but I don't remember how moment of inertia is defined....

....and the best thing is, I no longer have to know, because I'm done with physics AND the MCAT!:meanie: PARTY!!!:hardy: :hardy: :hardy:

if it doesnt work out for me this season, i may have to take that test again 🙄

Poor thing . . . that's a rough way to enter the world . . . and your friend's nerves must be so shot right now. I'm going to be an aunt soon, and just knowing that my niece-to-be should have been several weeks older than Blayne (cool name, btw) is a grounding thought. I'll be sure to send some good vibes Blayne's way and keep her and your friend in my thoughts. 🙂

Yeah, I thought her name was adorable too...

Home from school and DONE with the trimester. No more mechanics and kinematics for me!! (except for a retry of mcat maybe...).

11 days of freedom coming right up.

The weather is repulsive here.. rainy and cold. I'm loving the cold but we could do without more rain. Gonna finish my mcdonalds and have a nap!
