I just wrote my (minister) hubby's resignation letter. Thank God! We thought it would be better to wait until after Easter to make it official so that people would focus on the importance of the season instead of being mean to him. So...we went to church this morning, had a wonderful Easter meal, took a nap, had some dessert, and I wrote the letter. See ya later you horribly mean people! (the ones at church...not you lovely SDN ones 😍 )

That's my "puppy"!!! Well, one of them. Thanks for asking. She just turned 7. When I got her she was 9.5 weeks old and about 15 lbs. Today...she is a back breaking 114. But, the sweetest 114 we could ask for! 😍

i get my 3rd year schedule this week. we're going to have a class lottery tomorrow or tuesday to assign registration times. if you win you can register early in the day, if you lose you have to register in the afternoon. thats HUGE because going early will allow you to pick the schedule in the order you want. if you want to be an ob/gyn for example you want it in the middle of the year after you know what your doing in terms of the hospital computer system, patient notes, etc...

If you lose the lottery and have to do ob/gyn in as your 1st rotation, you're gonna look like an idiot to all the residents who you need rec letters from. then the other extreme is that you get it as your last rotation. then it'll be late in the year to get rec letters. blah... lets see what i get.

all the easter bunny brought me was more freaking out over step 1. this stuff takes FOREVER to get through. my schedule is sooooo shot to hell. i didnt think pathology would be so dense. whatever, i'll be done with it in about another week but i'm totally not where i thought i was going to be which sucks. 🙁

awesome. i'll be done with 2nd year curriculum on friday may 5th. from there its just going to be straight hard core independant USMLE studying until my test on june 13th. right now having to go to school 3 days a week for problem based learning small groups and preceptor and anything else they have us doing is really slowing me down.

Wow! I really hope you get what you want! But don't worry too much if you don't. The residents will understand if you're not super sharp on your first rotation, and whatever you end up deciding to go into you will do sub-Is or M4 electives early in your fourth year, which is where most people get their letters from. :luck:

Don't freak out. It's time to stop taking full-lengths anyway. Guju, don't enable her anxiety. 😛 Seriously, lil, you need to start winding down now and getting yourself mentally rested and ready for the real test. More intense studying now is liable to burn you out rather than allow you to learn much more. You can do a little light review this week if you want, but start to taper down, and take Friday off. You're going to be ok. 🙂

i totally agree with this, lil. i think the last time i took any test the week before the mcat was that monday before. then i just relaxed and went over the high yield notes over and over until about Wednesday/Thursday. Friday I just watched movies and went out to eat at a restaurant i liked. Thats it. Seriously, dont start freaking out and taking exams all this week. You need time to rest, you dont want to be burnt out for the real thing.

I took one practice exam every day from sunday through thursday of mcat week.......it wasn't cool--not cool at all

i never actually graded any of them 😳 i just wanted to know how i did. 😳

all im doing right now is focusing on my weak points (physics and chem crap)
