I always get annoyed when doing an organ system specific Q-bank block and a few questions will pop up that really are better suited for a different system that I haven't learned yet. I'd rather not answer them and use them later once I have covered that material.

What happens if you choose not to answer a question on a Q-bank? (specifically with USMLE-RX, but also interested in Kaplan and U-World) Does it mark it wrong and count it used? or would it reshuffle it into the remaining questions as another unused question? Or something else entirely?

Haven't used them in a while, but if I recall in Kaplan/UWorld if you leave the question blank it'll be marked as "incomplete." You can then create a custom test using just incomplete questions. I suppose you could then have simultaneous filters for incomplete and your organ system of choice to pull them back up at a later date.

Uworld counts it as an incorrect question (they will categorize it as omitted but the effect is that it is no longer considered a Q you haven't seen).

Kaplan counts them as incomplete. In fact, there is a trick to reset Kaplan to 0 Qs answered - just do all the Qs over again and don't answer any. Eventually all your Qs will be categorized as if you've never seen them before.

Idr the details of Rx but something tells me it's not as bad as uworld in this although not quite as generous as Kaplan. My guess is you get to see it again in the unanswered Qs. Also, you can cancel I think 60 tests of Rx. So rx doesn't allow you to reset the entire bank like uworld but you can cancel specific exams.
