I read this situation somewhere before, but i was just curious as to what people thought.. If you recieved an interview to a school that's far away, but knew you didn't fulfill your prerequisites and can't fulfill them, would you go? Someone said that their interviewer told them to go home.

Relying on the schools to waive prereqs that you KNOW you cannot complete is not a good idea. I have only heard vague rumors of people getting prereqs waived and those were applicants from years ago when it wasn't as competitive. Someone else might have heard differently, but it is my understanding that they will just withdraw your acceptance if you tell them you can't complete the prereqs after being accepted.
