random shiz bio questions

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Was doing a bio passage this morning and came across a question on insects birds and bears and how they store their fat. Can I really expect such random questions on the actual mcat?

In a passage, yes. It will probably include a graph, too. Some bio passages feel more like verbal passages.

In a discrete, it is unlikely as this would be trivial knowledge.

You should know that fat is a long-term storage form of energy made of glycerol-linked fatty acids composed of hydrocarbon chains linked to acyl groups... as opposed to glucose/sugars or amino acids/proteins or glycogen/starch (and in which kingdoms), for example.

Think about how plants store their energy and how animals store their energy.

Would a bear who hibernate need more fat, or would a hummingbird that rapidly metabolize all available energy need more fat? Etc.
