Random Stuffs

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Probably that you got sick of them repeating the same 20 questions in slightly different wording.

I went through it all I just know my first one was medical oncology and psychiatry was up there as well...

I would never do psychiatry.

Psychiatry was my last one. Probably bc I said I hate listening to people. Too bad this profession is full of it :eyeroll:

Mine were emergency med, physical med & rehabilitation, and pathology.

My mom is the exec director of an early childhood learning center with about 200 kids a day. I once was insanely desperate and asked her for a job. She said no "for the sake of the children"

The children loving gene definitely skipped right over me.

Don't worry mom, I'm just going to put a little "party hat" on your son now...

And get one of those dart guns..heheh.

 Yikes! I feel like I will love my own children, but other peoples...not so much.

Yeah, I mean I'm definitely having children, but it's usually the parents of other children I get annoyed with more than the brat children themselves.

Occupational med, pediatrics, plastic surgery, rheumatology, and emergency med were my top five

That job would last a day. I'd give some kid a shot, they'd start crying, I'd laugh and tell them to get over it as I walked out of the room. Fired for being a terrible person soon after. I'm okay with this.

OMG this is totally me lol I'm guilty of being like that when someone is over dramatic about any sort of pain ( mainly adults lol) .. I have a " shake it off " attitude towards pain.. A lifetime of sports is to blame lol

Nuclear med , nephrology and radiology for me. Uhhh, no. I think I got bored and ended up answering questions not 100% accurately. And I really hate the kidney. Well, maybe not hate, but we weren't the best of friends in Phys.

Preventative med, OB/GYN, Nephrology, internal medicine, and rehabilitation med were my top 5.

They are off on number 14 as well... "surgery assistant", ummm... NO, how about surgeon.

Noticed that too... 😡 who do they think vets assist while spaying a dog... Santa, or the Easter bunny? Stupid article lol

That would be a good way to deflect responsibility if something went wrong.
"I was only assisting!"

Then you could pack that room full of as many imaginary beings as you want.

I took that test, and I got Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, and Radiology as my top 3.

And yet Family Medicine was last. 😕

I'm not sure how that works, but okay.

For some reason I'm remembering when I lost my hope in our honors program- it was a class about creation stories and we were talking about the logistics of cold-blooded animals crossing the land bridge across the Bering Strait during the Ice Age. The professor was using a salamander as an example and this girl asks, "Well, why couldn't it go the short way?"
"What short way?"
"You know, that short way," as she points at the Atlantic Ocean.

My friends and I facepalmed at the same time and we decided that we'd slink out of there after a little bit.

Have you had a moment like that before? What happened? /nosy and bored

My roommate and SO spent the better part of today trying to convince me to go tunneling with them. Basically, there are huge tunnels(about 5 feet in diameter) that run underground everywhere for rain water. My roommate has been in and mapped the majority of the main lines in our area for the past 18 years. Almost convinced me to do a short one until they showed me the pics from last night. Literally a 9 inch long huntsman spider. NOPE.

It is pretty cool though. I dropped the group of them off last night at a tunnel entry and they ended up 2 miles west and came out of a man hole cover in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Imagine 5 grown men emerging from a manhole in the middle of your street, ninja turtle style, at 3am.

You know it's time to vacuum when a breeze blows a clump of fur across the floor and it is so big that you think it's a mouse 🙄

It was nice and sunny and dogs were playing at the park. Then came the quick storm with tornado warning and cut the play time short. 🙁

Highest was a tie between dermatology and anesthesiology; last was surgery (I could have guessed that on my own:laugh:)

My top 3:
1 nuclear med 47
2 neurology 46
3 radiology 45

Bottom 3:
34 radiation oncology 39
35 colon & rectal surgery 39
36 family practice 38

Not sure how this happened... The ones I'm interested in are somewhere in the middle🙄

I think mine was similar... I think it thinks we hate people. Pathology was one of my to ones though

Am I the only one who didn't know that Dr. house (Hugh Laurie) is an Englishman, complete with an accent? I guess it never occurred to me that people with English accent would want to sound like an American.
