I always get pj's from the cat too lol

You don't have dill pickle chips?!?
You can sometimes get the lays ones depending on how hard you look (at least in NC), but for some reason they're just not a thing here. I smuggle piles of chips and various candy home every time I visit the fam in Canada.

That pair of underwear is more amusing to me than I should be. I want.

I want toothless socks

And grumpy cat socks

Someone find me some, please. 🙂

That's actually pretty cute... lol. Not much in socks that aren't for little kids, though.

There's grumpy. Lots of options out there.

For anyone with sock problems, DEFINITELY don't visit any of these websites...

Attention Boston area SDNers. ( @Minnerbelle @kaydubs , and whoever else I forgot. )

I have suddenly been drafted to accompany MrsSOV to Boston for some conference she is speaking at...

I will bringing the infamous SOV IGs, so there is a rare opportunity to meet me and my dogs, and maybe even MrsSOV.

If you want to stop by and say hi (Meridien Hotel in Cambridge), let me know.

And if any of you who I can trust wants to baby sit the dogs on Friday or Saturday night while MrsSOV and I have dinner, a small thank you fee can be arranged. Easiest couple of hours ever... loving my adorable dogs.

Sorry if I forgot who is where.... you know... old man problems.

leaving sunday morning (or late saturday night if snow is going to be an issue on Sunday).

I work Sat, and depending on how late I get out I may or may not be able to drive into the city but I shall try. Keep me posted on what your plan for sat is.

That would be very sweet of you, but don't overdo running into the city. I am sure we will be back again at some point. But of course, if you make it, would love to see you.

Right now we are still planning on leaving Sunday morning, but won't make final decision until weather situation is clearer.

The St. Paddy's Day parade is an experience you shouldn't miss 😛

SO is working in Boston anyway so it wouldnt take much to go in for dinner or whatever. Just depends on weather and how busy it gets. If I leave work at like 5, and the weather's good, I'll likely go in. If you're there maybe we can meet up and if not, we'll make it a date night.

If it turns into a ****storm of a Saturday, I'll probably go home to rock myself in a corner instead.

I wouldn't let my mom post on Facebook about me being accepted, so today when work posted about it my mom shared the post since *technically* it wasn't her posting about it 🙄

Work is going to think some random person shared it though since we have different last names, so at least that will be amusing haha

Help! What would you guys do in this situation?!

The weather says we're going to get more heavy rain and possibly more floods Wednesday night. I planned to leave for spring break Thursday night after an exam, but now I'm uncertain. The entire interstate home shut down the last time it flooded, and some of my hometown was underwater as well. I'm scared to know what will happen this time, with water just now starting to really recede in some places. My parents are very worried. Would it be ridiculous to email my professor and ask if I could take my exam after break so I don't risk getting flooded in or worse? I plan to wait tomorrow to see what the forcast really says. I just think it'd be unfair to the rest of the class if I did this, especially since it's based on a weather forecast.

Could you take it early instead?

Could you take it early instead?
I could, but that would be tomorrow and I'm studying for another test that's also tomorrow :scared: I would be more than happy to (though I'd probably do very poorly) but I'm just even trying to gauge if I do need to leave early. This professor also seems to be pretty lax about makeup exams, because when I offered to take my first exam early because it was the same day as an interview, she let me take it after everyone else. I just don't like doing that to professors more than once in a semester. It just sucks because they literally just updated the forecast an hour ago to tell us all to prepare for the return of Atlantis...

Is there a possibility your school will shut down in anticipation of the storms?

Maybe possibly, but not likely. The storms had already begun last time they called it, and we can't take too many days off or we have to extend the semester. Granted, the three days we had off were definitely a good call, but we are already very behind syllabus wise in some classes (though not this particular one). I just emailed my teacher to ask if I could take it tomorrow. This is a super stressful decision. I hope she doesn't feel like I am shaming her into trying to have extra days to study. My parents are just freaking out, and since they have enough to worry about right now, I don't want to add to their stress by making potentially risky decisions...

Best of luck!
I didn't want to freak you out before you got things resolved, but now that you have...
We had re-flooding repeatedly last spring. Once the ground is saturated, heavy rains can cause areas to flood again quickly. The main road into and out of my town flooded badly and then reflooded shortly afterwards. So, it probably is not a bad thing to get your exams over and get to higher ground.
Be safe!

See this is what I'm worried about.. even if the forecast doesn't outwardly say 20+ inches of rain like it did last time, that ground is still wet. Some rural roads just now started to open back up on Monday. So it wouldn't take much for the water to come up over the roads again.

I just miss the scenery, fish, and everyone's accent 🙁 they don't call it beautiful British Columbia for nothing!!

I gave notice at work yesterday. I'm planning to move in June for school and need the extra time to deal with that. This is extremely strange because I have never been unemployed in my adult life.

I really enjoy Harvey's veggie burgers and fries (with vinegar!) I've never had poutine, but I really want to try a veggie version!

I had poutine in Canada, it was delicious! And the gravy was vegetarian, so no meat!

I have a two week externship this summer at a clinic that's an hour and 20 minutes from my parent's house. They don't provide housing. Can't decide if I want to make the drive every day (which is partly on the PA turnpike with tolls) or pay for a place to stay...

What about looking at Couchsurfers or something? Since it's only 2 weeks, maybe you can rotate? I don't know.

Depends on how good your parents' cooking is.

what town is it in?

haha! My parents don't cook a lot since they spend so much time at the track with their horses, esp on race days. My husband's grandma (who is in the same town as my parents) on the other hand... I'm sure she'd feed me as much as I wanted!

For some reason I was reading you as being @SummerTheLynx (STL), not STB and I was extremely confused about the husband part since I thought STL was dating BI and then there was mention of a husband....

You didn't know about my secret husband? @brightimpressio has come to terms about him already, he's just such a sweetheart! 😛

Is everyone on here FB friends or something?

Some are, I'm personally not friends with anyone yet. Lupin posted this video in the thread here not too long ago, and her friend is in it!
